Our rooms were charming, each one differently decorated, beds comfortable and cooling system excellent. The whole building is full of surprises, decorated by local craftsmen to great aesthetic effect. The rooftop restaurant serves excellent food and the service is good. Our host, Mr Singh, was always immaculately turned out and most helpful. He obviously loves his hotel and treats his staff with encouragement and rewards. They in turn treated us kindly, politely and always smilingly. This is an excellent hotel at a bargain price.
My only criticism was that the shower was not very effective...not enough water!

A very friendly and helpful welcome when we arrived and we were handed a very helpful booklet when we arrived telling us a bit about everything really, but most helpful was the map. It’s a little bit out of the centre, but no more than a 15 minute walk from the well known cinema or a short auto rickshaw drive.

The place is great value for what you get and it’s well worth staying there. The food is brilliant and great value too. And the rooftop restaurant is a nice place to relax and have a drink.

Service in the restaurant is slow, especially for breakfast. The menu does say that things are cooked fresh and it may take time, but waiting over an hour just to get our order in the morning was a bit frustrating. Having to wake up especially early to make sure we weren’t late for our pick up seemed a bit unnecessary.

A very nicely designed ho(me)tel - Value for money – Very very decently priced hotel – clean authenticate ‘Rajasthani’ rooms – Smiling, decent and friendly staff – Close but away from the regular hustle of the city – Beautifully decorated Roof-top restaurant with nominally priced assortment of items - Only place the owner (Mr. Singh) and his family is directly involved DAILY in all the activities of the Hotel.

Do experience Pear Palace once, CHALLENGE that you will ALWAYS want to come back. .

Four of us (girls) traveled to Jaipur from Mumbai in December 2007 and chose the Hotel Pearl Palace because of positive reviews from Lonely Planet and other online forums. We were very happy with the hotel and staff, and found it to be excellent value for money. I am surprised it is only a 2-star hotel, as it has many amenities of a hotel in a 3-star class or higher.

LOCATION: The hotel was not too far from the airport by taxi, I think the drive all up was not longer than 20 minutes. From the hotel you can walk to the bus port (buses leave for the old city and you can take tours from there) or just wander through the surrounding area (there are plenty of shops nearby). The street itself seemed to be a semi-residential one, so it was not noisy.

PRICE: We paid very little online for our room. The total price per night wasn't more than AUD$16 each. This is what you can expect to pay at many hostels, so it is good value for money.

ROOMS: We had initially booked two double rooms, but when we arrived they put us all in a huge room (split level), with two doubles and a single bed - this was fine by us. The room had ceiling fans, a wardrobe and bathroom attached. It was simply furnished and decorated, but very clean with comfortable beds.

AMENITIES: There was laundry service that we used, and found it to be cheap and efficient. I don't recall there being room service; however there is a rooftop restaurant that is INCREDIBLE. We loved it so much that we ate here almost every night. It was cheap, had a huge selection of local and some western cuisine, and the ambience was perfect. There are views over the city and a lovely garden on the roof, as well as almost nightly entertainment (one night there was a traditional puppet show, another a group of singers). The hotel also has a room with computers for internet use, as well as a library. There is a small charge for the internet.

SERVICE: The staff were friendly and helpful, and the area at the front desk has a large collection of books and pamphlets recommending various activities and sights around Jaipur. They were very helpful in organising an aryuvedic massage for us - they recommend one of the better businesses in town, and organise for a car to pick you up and drop you back at the hotel. We liked the hotel so much we extended our stay by one night, and the staff were very accommodating in allowing us to keep the same room for the duration of our stay.

The Hotel Pearl Palace is a beautifully decorated little hotel in a safe location. One of the best budget hotels I have stayed in, Mr Singh and his staff have not compromised on cleanliness and service. I will certainly be returning to this hotel.

Dear Travellers,
This place is amazing! Rooms are beatuiful, cleans, and very nice decorated! The entire hotel is decorated with good taste and seems like the owner take care of his business.
On the top, there is a beautiful terrace with a spectacular view where you can enjoy breakfast and dinner with good food.
Laundy service is available too and there is a small corner for internet (not the speedest but it is ok) and book exchange.
The staff is friendly too. The only thing you have to know is that if you are travelling as a backpacker and have a small budget you can find this hotel out of your budget. Otherwise is ok. The double room single use with a/c and private room was 900 Rupies/night in September 2009.
Best Regards,

Great hotel! Cleanest hotel with lovely atmosphere.

Booked online in the UK and got quick response confirming booking from Mr Singh, the owner. As promised, we were met at Jaipur train station and taken to the hotel. Had lovely, very clean room. Nice rooftop restaurant, very beatifully decorated, great atmosphere, with tasty and well priced food. Helpful and friendly staff. Common room (something everwhere else in India lacks) with comfy sofas, library and internet to chill out away from the city.
