“Great Hotel, Lovely People, Amazing Service”
Reviewed November 26, 2012

Was skeptical about this hotel before I booked. A colleague did a recce and advised us to reconsider. But we still went ahead based on Tripadvisor reviews. And had no reason to regret. The central location, the ease of booking, the courteous front-desk, the speedy service, the homely food and the attractive prices all make for a lovely deal.

Made up our minds that in our next trip to Jaipur we will stay here only. :)
Glad to have discovered this gem...

Pros:
- Very reasonable rates/tariff.
- Excellent food. This was as close to home cooked quality that I have had on the road.
- Dedicated travel desk
- Located close to attractions and to restaurants and is easy to find transport.
- Rooms are clean and the bathrooms are very spacious and very clean.

Cons:
- Service at the hotel food stall is remarkably slow.
- The rooms are on the smaller side.
- There is no room service. When travelling with small children, having an option of room service really helps a lot.

We had high expectations as this hotel was highly recommended by a few friends. But sadly, it did not turn out to be worthy of high praise. This is a good hotel but nothing extraordinary, The rooms were smaller than expected, but clean. The brightest spot is the lawn/courtyard, which is well maintained. Location is also a plus point (10 mins by auto-rickshaw from the railway station). Food menu did not offer much choice, and serving started late, after display of the day's offerings, whcih was unnecessary. Check-in and check-out was quite smooth. Overall, an ok hotel.

Thank you for taking out the time to write a review.
I am sorry you found our rooms a bit small, but I hope you know that we have three types of rooms, each a little bigger than the lower category with economy rooms being the smallest and deluxe rooms quiet large.

We strive to serve a range of homely food, the display is quiet neccessary for foreign guests who may not know what a karela looks like of what is meant by a kofta! Also, the display lets you know the size of the portion. It is generally quite well taken by our guests.

Positives:
The whole hotel is spic and span it is very well maintained. The local cultural programmes are arranged in the hotel, great way to spend your evenings here. And has a courteous reservation desk.
Negatives:
a) Poor Customer Service at Front office. I had booked the room in advance with request for an early check-in as I was travelling by bus from Udaipur and I didn’t know the exact timing of arrival. The person at reservations obliged for my request of early check-in and had given 6 am as my time of arrival. I arrived at the hotel at 4am and the person at front office refused give me the room (even though the rooms were available) and he wanted to charge me for extra half a day. The hotel has 12.00 noon check-in check-out policy. I had doubly made sure before making my reservations that they don’t charge for extra half a day. I refused to pay for extra half a day as I was checking in only couple of hours early. I was made wait for 40minutes at the reception before the front office person relented and gave me the room. I didn’t understand what front office person was trying to prove by not giving the room for good 40 Minutes.
b) Dining here was not a pleasant experience. It has a self service system where in you will have to place an order which is quiet confusing will take lot of time for one to decide so during peak hours you will have to wait in the queue for a long time if they have many people ordering. The food available here is very limited like any canteens.

Greetings from Arya Niwas Jaipur.

Thank you for taking out the time to write a review. I am happy you liked the services overall.
Normally we do charge half day for early check ins. You gave your time for 6 AM, and though we normally charge for 6 AM check in, the reservation staff waived off the charge. Your check in actually happened at 4 AM, so I think a demand for half day charge was justified.
The receptionist took some time as he wanted to ask his manager for giving the room to you without the half day charge as you asked. So, as you asked, a room was given to you without charging half day as well, even though the check in was at 4 AM, or 4:30 by the time you got the room.
Had we known that check in is at 4 AM, we would have informed you at the time of booking the room of the applicable charge. Please not that this is not unusual bu tin accordance with what hotels charge across Jaipur.

I promise a smoother check in the next time you come and stay with us.

Good place to stay. However, rooms are a bit small for the rent paid. However, good service..... Room staff etc are good. Rooms are clean. I wouldn't comment much on food quality. Its average. Location is central to the Railway station and Bus station.

This might be my tenth visit... Its always friendly, convinient and serves the purpose. All types of visitors are seen here, this is a value for money hotel. A visit to the gift shop is a must...

The variety of food in the restaurant is quite helpful, 24hr room service would be nice, although there is a limited night pantry there. Hope the small renovations come to an end some day. The designs on the ceilings are great...

This hotel is situated in the heart of the city which is a good thing.Room staffs are quite cordial.Very helpful. The general cleanliness in the hotel, dining hall and lawn area is quite good.
The DTH connection/LCD TV in the rooms are gives enough options.

Coming to food -
The breakfast options are quite good and tasty well. But I felt the food rates are on the higher side.Looks like this is yet another hotel in Rajasthan (like most) targeting Foreign tourists and not at all bothered about Indian tourists while pricing the food items.

So overall its a recommended hotel provided you have extra money in your pocket.

Room Tip: Rooms in first floors seem better than ground floor.

I am surprised that you found our food expensive, as we are known for being a great value for money restaurant. Also, please do not think we are working to fleece either Indian or foreign guests. Both are important and both should be served earnestly, and that is what we try to do!
