“Best Hotel we stayed at in India”
Reviewed November 20, 2011

We stayed here for 4 nights, extending our stay after the first 3. Of the 6 hotels we stayed at during our Indian vacation this was by far the most professional and cleanest and was also the cheapest. Everything worked, room service, cleaning service, everything happened very quickly any time we needed anything. The hotel staff was also friendly and helpful and the small shop on the premises had listed prices, unusual for a country known for unethical shopkeepers. However, an important note here is that this would not be a good hotel for people with a phobia of lizards, as there were more than a few lining the halls at night. My wife and I enjoyed them, but this may make this hotel not ideal for everyone.

We stayed here for four nights and could not have wished for more. The Arya Niwas offers first class accommodation at budget rates. The rooms are characterful, spotlessly clean and very well equipped, and everything works. The food, served in a slightly quirky way, offers all options - good range of local dishes, but also porridge for breakfast and superb French fries - eaten either in the restaurant or outside on the terrace or in the garden. Wi-fi is available throughout the hotel for a small charge, and the computer room is well-equipped with a most helpful attendant. There's a beautiful traditionally furnished lounge and a small TV room (plus satellite TV in rooms). Telephone calls to the UK are charged at 10 per minute, so it's cheap to keep in touch with home.

The hotel is located just outside the walls of the old city, so it is possible to walk to most of the amazing city sights, though you'll probably want to take an auto or cycle rickshaw, always available just outside the gates. The on-site shop is well-stocked at fair prices; it's worth checking the fixed prices here if you want to haggle elsewhere, or you may end up paying a lot more. They also offer a range of pre-booked trips at reasonable prices, though we negotiated directly with auto-rickshaws outside. Definitely recommend Amber Palace, but don't miss the fabulous 16th century temple in Amber town (though the driver may not want to take you there). Likewise, an auto out to Sanganer is well worth the trip to see block-printing textiles, but the Jain temple is a stunner too, 1000 years old in part, truly beautiful and peaceful. One of the highlights of our trip. Our driver had never been there and had to ask around. Finally, don't miss the "Monkey Palace" temples on the hill to the east of the city. By chance we were there for a festival, a most amazing experience.

Room Tip: Go for one of the rooms facing into the central courtyard; they're so quiet you can hear the fou...

Greetings from all of us here at Arya Niwas. Thank you for taking out the time to write a review, and also for your kind words. It is great to have a review from someone so observant.

By the way, the Jagat Shiromani temple in Amber town is my favourite too!

We stayed at Arya Niwas for three nights arriving late in the evening. The staff of the hotel was very friendly. We got a big room with a garden view. It was a nice, clean and quiet place. The hotel restaurant was serving tasty and cheep meals. The hotel was providing computers and internet for only 30 Rs per hour, little shop where you could buy some post cards or souvenirs. One could also book some trips for Jaipur and surroundings or a railway drop. We have been in India for the first time and stayed in 4 other hotels in different cities. Arya Niwas turned out to be the best among those.

We stayed for the weekend and, even with the good reviews here, were pleasantly surprised. It was one of the first hotel bathrooms we've come across in India that was really clean ("Western clean"). The staff was helpful (knew local restaurants, how much a toktok should cost from here to there, etc) and the garden restaurant is a quiet respite from the busy city (and quite cheap). There is a under-utilized set of tables on the roof, several internal courtyards, and a library in which to read. It's close to the Pink City too (Rs30 in a autorickshaw using the meter). We recommend it highly.

Our stay in the Arya Niwas in october 2012 was one of the best stays in any hotel in India. This hotel is rated as a 3 star hotel but with the cleaniness of the rooms, the excellent and sincere friendly staff and manager it could easily be rated among the few 5 stars in that area of the world. The WIFI connection was just 40 IR for one hour bu with very good connection through the whole hotel. It was a little heaven away from the hussle of the busy streets outside.

The choice of food and beverages is plentifull and the prices are really acceptable fot this kind of hotel. On request the travel agency can arrange a transfer to any part of Rajastan for a reasonable price and especially with a reliable cab driver. Our driver was named Dreep and his beautiful white ambassodor was fun tob e driven with. As the roads in Rajastan are not among the best ones a new Japanese car would not be quicker than this ambassodor car.

We really recommend this hotel and would book it again if we were to return to India in future.

This was a hurriedly planned trip and we did not have a lot of time to research on places to stay in Jaipur.
We chose Arya Niwas based on a few online reviews and availability of rooms. We were not expecting a lot, but were pleasantly surprised!!

The property is extremely neat and tidy and well maintained. We had an extremely comfortable stay, thanks to the courteous and helpful staff. The restaurant serves yummy, vegetarian food, though service can be slow during rush hours.
Can honestly find nothing bad to say about the place, except that it does not have amenities like swimming pools etc. But then again, its not a resort and more a place for people who want to explore the city and need a comfortable place to stay.

We stayed at Arya Niwas for two nights, arriving late after a long drive and hectic day. Our room was large, clean and quiet. The tucked away location and peaceful garden is a welcome relief from the hectic chaos of Jaipur. The veg restaurant serves up good value, yummy meals and the staff were able to organise some great taxi drivers for us.
