“Excellent Hotel Haveli... Good Service””
Reviewed March 12, 2014

I would highly recommend this place; it was the most luxurious place and it was crammed full of fabulous curios and amazing highly decorated rooms.
The swimming pool looked lovely (we didn't use it as we weren't in the hotel much when the sun was up!). Breakfast was taken in the restaurant and there was lots of variety which changed daily.

The rooftop bar/restaurant was lovely too with a great view of the city. .
The hotel is situated in an upmarket part of town which is very clean.
The staff were courteous and helpful. Our room was gorgeous, well furnished and highly decorated. Would definitely recommend this place.

...like hot water and a room not directly under the kitchen. The chandelier was nearly falling our of the ceiling. The staff, food, and dinner floor show were great! The bed was hard with no pad. The stairs are not for the meek, nor is the elevator.

Room Tip: Make sure to request a room NOT below the kitchen!

My daughter and I have just returned from a week in Jaipur staying at the Umaid Bhawan Heritage Hotel. We booked a room with a car and driver for an inclusive price. (aprox £340). The hotel is spotlessly clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. We did ask to move rooms after the first night as the down stairs room was quite noisy but it wasn't a problem. The hotel serves good food and has has a roof top restaurant with live entertainment.. The breakfast was good, lots of hot dishes and very good omelettes made in front of you. Having a car and driver was brilliant and Mr Kishan Sain who drove for us all week was a real treat. He took us to all the main attractions but also took us to places off the tourist route. We went to a fabric printing factory's and shops, (our intrest) he asked if we minded watching a little boy preform the most amazing magic tricks. Kishan drove us to Agra to visit the Taj, (we paid extra for this (aprox £60)we did the return trip in one day, it was an eye opening but unforgettable experience and never was an ice cold Kingfisher beer enjoyed quite so much when we retuned to our peaceful charming hotel. I can't recommend the Umaib Bhawan enough. They will arrange a driver to collect you from the airport for a reasonable charge. Please ask for Kishan if you need an honest reliable amusing taxii driver, he works for the Bhati Taxi company that operates through the hotel. The owner speaks very good English and quotes reasonable set prices for an journeys required.

Room Tip: Make sure the room is upstairs with a balcony.

our first impact was not the best.Arriving a day earlier the manager tried to put us into an anonymous apartment next door. We were finally given a room in this very interesting Heritage House - from then on everything was perfect. We stayed here 3 nights 20/23 Feb.
The hotel is not close to the center having a car and driver did not bother us. Our room was very comfortable and clean - we slept very well here.
It is an unusual building full of surprises, hidden public spaces, balconies private and public inviting you to relax, enjoy a cup of tea and catch up on your mail. Wifi free - the password changes daily.
The dining room was a golden mirage and served very good Indian meals. Next door was a huge terrace where Rajasthani musicians played and sang - meals were also served here.Breakfast, included in the price, was very good the egg cooker was very popular.
There was also a very tricky elevator which we appreciated very much.
The whole staff were always there to help you always with a warm smile - mostly from Darjeeling.
A special thanks to the owner for his valuable help in sending us to a very efficient hospital, Fortis Escorts, where my husband was visited. He had bronchitis and high fever- I do not know your name, but I remember an elegant smiling man wearing jodphurs. Thank you

Not much I can add to what others have said here. Really enjoyed our stay. Our room was lovely, full of charm. Spent some time walking around hotel just admiring nooks and crannies and local art. Sorry I was never hot enough to need pool, which looked lovely. We loved sitting on the roof and eating dinner. Food was good, so we never tried any place else. Didn't find the reception staff particularly friendly, but believe it was only because they were always extremely busy. Certainly complied with our every request. Excellent value for dollar.

This hotel has left no area neglected when it comes to attention to detail. The reception alone is clad with decorative figurines mounted on the wall, prayer shrines elaborately finished seating and even the doors are golden structures that make you stand in awe!
The rooms have a tv, good hair dryer, fridge with water etc and the ornate detail on the walls and ceilings takes you into a mediation on their own. I stayed 3 nights and my room was cleaned twice as i left my key with reception. The young lads are always cleaning the hall ways and furniture and primping and pruning plants in the public areas. Reception can not help you enough and will offer you expert local advice and guidance as well as being able to arrange local transport if needed. (Luggage belonging to a member of our party was left at another hotel some 4 hours away and Reception and Umaid Bhawan arranged a currier service to transport the luggage back to its rightful owner) There is a public phone in the room and Wi Fi service is available at a small charge.
Food is absolutely terrific with a large vegetarian and non veg options (Mutton and chicken being the most popular non veg). Pizza's, Indian cuisine and sandwiches all alow even the most fussy eater something to get stuck into.
Entertainment is the same each evening with Indian dancing by two lovey young ladies who have a special talent of dancing with several large pots on their head. They often like diners to join in at meal times and take part in the dancing, we were a large party of 13 so a number of us were up in the evenings learning the moves with them.
The hotel location is fantastic for visiting the jewellery quarter and the City temple as well as Amer Fort.

Room Tip: Our party of 13 were spread sround various floors but if you are an early to bed person avoid room 4...
