“Worth a miss”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 24, 2013

Well the only thing worth about going up to Jaigarh Fort is the view down to Amber Fort. Since it was a garrison it is for work not luxury. It is massive so have a guide even if it is to show you where the view of Amber Fort is. We would have missed it if we didn't have a guide.

If you had to choose, go to Nahargarh Fort (Tiger Fort) for a look around before sunset and then go to the cafe/restaurant next door for a beer and snacks as the sunsets. You pay Rs50 to enter the cafe/restaurant but this also gives you a cold drink or tea/coffee..........we had a cold Kingfisher as the sunset and we could hear the muslim call to prayer echoing through the city below us

“Special”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 21, 2013

The walk up was lovely and not as hard as it looks the tank at the bottom is a great place to view for the early morning. The fort was fantastic and a must see if going to Jaipur. Easy to spend several hours there. It's a pit but the choice to go up the hill by elephant seems ridiculous at 900rupees ( which you are told is a fixed price).

“Not interesting”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 20, 2013

Though it offers a nice view on the city, there is nothing more to expect from this place. There was just walls to see and a canon. Some military guys explain to tourist, for some money, the story behind this huge canon. It's included in the combo ticket, so it's free. But for me it's worth only to spend 20min.

“The Big Red Fort”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 9, 2013

The size and scale of this place is quite amazing. The reddish colour of the stone is a big contrast to Amber Fort at the bottom of the hill. There are some fantastic views especially from the walkway which surrounds the manicured garden. We arrived thinking we'd just take a quick look round as we were already tired. Ended staying for several hours and getting lost in the place.

Don't miss the worlds biggest cannon also. For some reason i found myself to be the centre of attention. Indian guys kept asking to have their picture taken with me, this hardly happened when visiting other places so was surprising, but yes other visitors were very friendly and welcoming.
