“a must visit in jaipur”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 19, 2012

its a definite must must visit ....the fort is enormous and make sure u get a guide along too.. otherwise u will not realise the importance of most of the things seen inside nor the stories that each place has to tell.. guides cost about 150 rs and are definitely worth the money .The huge canon is the masterpiece and awesome .....biggest in the world ....SHUDNT MISS IT

“Get the guide - he'll be well worth it”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 16, 2012

This is the home of the biggest gun in India, if not the world and it was only fired once. The fort was built to protect Jaipur but has never been used in anger.
Rumours have it that the government found the massive treasure trove stored under the water tank in the 1950's when they had closed the fort for several years.
The fort is also home to the black faced monkey, the less aggressive of the two Jaipur monkeys.
Loads to see here with a good guide, including the places where the cannons were smelted, the small museum and the intricate water harvesting system which still works today. Expect to pay around 200 rupees on top of the entry fee for a English speaking guide (they split all the money up as a cooperative at the end of each day).
There is a refreshments area and souvenir shop inside the fort, neither of which appear to be very exensive nor too pushy.

“Military Fort Jaigarh”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 15, 2012

Very nicely designed to hold the warriors and the rain harvesting system very unique. The Large cannon is very impending but seems to be a waste of money since it was not used except for testing.

“Worth climbing up”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 12, 2012

Get a guide, let him explain and take a look at the impressive big cannon and take a walk around the fort on top of the walls. It will take you an hour to finish and you will take 1000 photos of nice views
