“Worth viewing”
Reviewed February 5, 2013

Saw the Jal Mahal from the road as I dont think anyone is allowed to the palace in the lake. Looked pretty from a distance but is definitely not as outstanding as some of the monuments I saw in Rajasthan.

“Seems an ilusion, but it is real”
Reviewed February 5, 2013

It is amazing to see this palace in the middle of the lake; looks like it is floating. Although you can only see it from distance, it is very worth to stop by.

“Scenic.”
Reviewed February 4, 2013

Although there is nothing much that one can do except appreciating the beauty of this monument.. but the beauty speaks volume..
This should be visited during the sunset time.. It would give a different impact..
Jal Mahal falls on the way to Nahrgarh, Amber and Jai garh fort..

“Jewel of Jaipur”
Reviewed February 3, 2013

Yes indeed it is the jewel of Jaipur and one place which I always wanted to see through my camera and eyes. It stands mighty in the midst of Jaipur and you can occasionally view this magnificent monument whenever you pass by or on your way to Amer Fort.

Probably it would have been some palace area and then it would have gone underwater over time. They say it is four stories below and one floor above and that simply is amazing. It is one of its kind and you would simply keep on gazing at it in admiration.

As yet till date access is not allowed and common public cannot go to the palace but I desperately wished to be there inside and see the palace with the water. Hope one day my wish comes true and the government allows access for common public. It lights up beautifully in the evening and I wonder how it is maintained and if maintained by people then who lives there and how is it possible to live there at all.

It is said that it will soon be made accessible and then people can have a chance to visit the inside and also dine and stay in the palace itself. The website says that the restoration project is going on and people might get a chance to enjoy it on or after 2014. I am waiting for the day.

It is a wondrous monument and a must visit for every person who visits Jaipur.
