Birla Mandir's are same across India but the only difference here is that its made of marble and not red stone. So if you wish to take blessings from Laxmi narayan then you can go there else nothing so exiciting about this place.

An ok place for travelers. If you are not a follower of the Hindu religion then it is not a mandatory place to visit. Would have loved to visit the Shib Mandir though which is on top of a mountain just adjacent to this one. Heard it opens only for a day in a year.

Make sure you visit the Birla Temple with a local to find out about the Gods and legend of the great Flood.

Birla temple( as always) is a nice architectural piece of monument in the city. From there you can also have a view of the small but not open to public-moti dungri fort.
First the temple may not be a tourist attraction for non hindus. The temple staff are prompt in preventing people from taking pictures. Foreign tourists may find this offending but Indians can manage as they can click pictures even when stopped!
Temple is small and it may take 30 minutes to visit the complete monument. The marble carving is good but not as great as Birla temple in other cities.
It can be good palce for short visit or for those who want a place for meditation.
