“Strange place but amazing”
Reviewed November 27, 2013

A guide or a audio guide (i think audio guide is best its based on correct information & done by the government of India so u will get most accurate information) is a MUST. Or else one will have no idea what those installations there for.

This was a definite highlight for us. Be sure to go with a knowledgable guide who can explain the calculations for you. It is absolutely brilliant.

“Jantar Mantar- A World Heritage site”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

Our first sight to visit in Jaipur was Jantarmantar. I was amazed to see the structures of early astronomy which is still working. Very well maintained as all of them looked new. but to understand all of them you must have a good idea of astronomy otherwise you will understand what the guide will say you. The solar watch, different Rashi Chakras you need a good time to thoroughly watch and understand all of them.

“The ancient Education park”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

From the front gate, this Jantar Mantar can hot easily to be know. What kind of attraction that was inside. After entering u will see, many kind of astronomy instrument in each area. Some of the area need to be repaired soon. If there's some simulation about all the astronomy device in this park will be really helpfull for the visitor. Sometimes, by the limited capability of person, we cn not think. Why this device, was creater for? How it works? Hmmm... Really clever people who create all that astronomy device.

“Extraordinary 18th Century Observatory”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

This collection of astronomical instruments, built in stone by the Maharajah of Jaipur, is a truly unusual sight. Jai Singh did everything to a huge scale, so this is spread over several acres, and features what must be the world's largest sundials. It is architecturally marvelous, too. For those interested in the history of science, or architecture, this is a must.
