“Very Exotic and Majestic Hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 24, 2014

This is our return visit to the Alsisar Haevli. The hotel is extremely quiet and tucked away, which is such a gem in Jaipur. The hotel is meticulously looked after and everything is of a high standard. The rooms are large and luxurious with beautiful ensuite bathrooms, with all facilities in the room that you could desire. There is a glorious swimming pool which is spotlessly clean. At night in the courtyard there is music playing, which lends itself to the style of the hotel. The dining room is stunning with large portraits. Breakfast - vast menu and definitely plentiful. We ordered room service one evening, because one of our party was not well, and unfortunately this took 1 1/2 hrs - which was unfortunate, also the Wi-Fi in the Hotel is not good. You have to get log-on details, and everytime you log-off you have to go down to Reception to get a new log-on slip. Wi-Fi only works well in reception. This is unsatisfactory and should be looked at by Hotel Management. Only one computer for Guests in the Hotel reception area, and this did not work. When we asked for assistance with this, reception staff did not assist us. Other than those deteails, the Alsisar Haevli is a lovely Hotel, I do hope that the management sort out the Wi-Fi problems.

Thank you SDicks0n for your kind words! We work towards making out guests stay at Alsisar Hotels as comfortable as possible. Im sorry about the wi-fi , since ours is a heritage property with thick walls we so have some wifi issues which we are looking into.I hope there will be no such trouble the next time you visit us. We value your feedback and will definitely look into the late arrival of your room service. We are glad you had a pleasant stay, and look forward to having you visit us again in the future. Happy Travels!

My grand-daughter and I visited in December 2013. The hotel had a majestic atmosphere. We felt we were staying in a Palace. The staff were mist obliging and nothing seemed too much trouble. The outdoor entertainers gave a festive feeling but were not intrusive.
The room was elegant and the restaurant superb!

What a mansion! The dining room Is spectacular as are the outside areas. A perfect place to read and relax. The room was big and well decorated and very clean. Service excellent. Stayed 4 days and it wasn't enough.

I stayed two nights at Alsisar Haveli. I loved my room - it has a very exotic feel/ decor. The best part of the hotel is the open courtyard areas which provide a relaxing oasis from the crowded streets of Jaipur.

I did find the staff a little pushy for tips - but overall they were nice and helpful. Note that dinner is not available until 7PM which when traveling can be tough if you are not fully adjusted to the time change - I was ready to eat by 5PM.

Also, the streets around the hotel are very hectic and I do not recommend walking around the area.

I would be happy to stay here again.

I loved this hotel. The lobby was a bit average but when you walk out of those doors into the garden you feel like you stepped back in time. It feels like a little palace. Pool and gardens are lovely. The room we stayed in was just gorgeous - the decor was opulent and the door is secured by a key and padlock after shutting a huge bolt. The bathroom is vast and we learned how to let the water run for about 5 minutes before it got hot (also there are time limits when the water goes on but this was never a problem). How lovely to sit in the gardens just watching the world go by. As we went in Winter, when the sun went it got quite cold, so one of the staff (Amar) suggested we go up to the roof area and he brought our drinks up there. He was constantly checking we were ok. Again, all the staff were wonderful and all tried to make us feel special - they really were great. Breakfast was ok - nothing amazing and we had dinner there one night but were really pushed to have the buffet - it was quite an ordeal to get the menu off them. We did finally get a menu but it was just typed on a scrap of paper so we had the buffet - it was fine but we ate out from then. On the grounds they have a puppet show and the dancers (whirling dervishes) - but expect to tip them. There is also a souvenir shop. We had to leave the hotel early in the morning and again, not a problem, they opened the restaurant early for us. There is no tea or coffee in the room but room service is the same price as getting coffee from the restaurant. The hotel was just beautiful though and with the standard of service I would absolutely stay here again

Room Tip: We stayed on the first floor but there are quite a lot of steps to walk up (no lift) - so if it is...

Had a recommendation for this hotel, stayed for two nights. The town was interesting, but the experience was not complemented by the hotel. The breakfast buffet was the worst I've seen in India, though perhaps with odder assortments of items, like overcooked idly with no sambar. The staff consistently asked for cash payments, and on our final day when we insisted on having it charged to the room we figured out why - we were paying 25% more for those items we paid for in cash. There is a room service menu, but about one tenth of it is available. The rooms were freezing and space heaters not working. Hot water has timings, and even with that it wasn't reliable. The heater was broken in every room it seemed, and space heaters were a poor substitute, especially since many of them were broken. This experience was the same for most we chatted with in the common areas. Pretty hotel, though.

Having had the privilege of travelling the world extensively for 30 years, and staying in some of the finest establishments in both a work and pleasure capacity, I was delighted to find myself ensconced in the beauty of this hotel for 3 days whilst touring Jaipur.

On a busy road in downtown Jaipur, our driver drove off through an ornate Rajasthani archway into an open courtyard.... And into another world!

Check out the history of the hotel; it's one of the many glorious royal palaces now being used as a hotel. There is a certain feel to the place. You can almost feel the love and dedication given to the building of this palace, hear the family talking and children playing in the plethora of beautiful courtyards and corridors that abound.

My partner and I were aghast at the stunning architecture... Minarets, ornately painted archways, vaulted ceilings, colossal crystal chandeliers, and so on.

Rooms were beautifully restored and furnished. Lots of super touches like local handmade soaps. Great room service. Fabulous wet rooms of marble with ample supplies of very hot running water.

Now onto the service. A seamless and courteous checkin, unlike most Indian hotels where you spend an age whilst the staff wade through a pile of beurocratic paperwork, stamping and photocopying, etc etc!!!!

The boys serving in the restaurant were an absolute delight. Charming , attentive, with a clear passion to deliver excellence. We ate like Lords, drank like kings. The offering was from a buffet, both for dinner and breakfast. A great choice of both European and wonderful Indian cuisine, changed daily.

Be sure to try the Indian wines... Sula Sauvignon Blanc and also their Cab Sav. Really complements the food superbly, and at about £14 a bottle, a real must.

We paid about seventy quid a night for the experience, including breakfast.

If you are planning a trip to the mystical and most beautifully spiritual city of Jaipur, be sure to treat yourself to this little gem. I promise you won't be disappointed . X
