“Lots of historical charm”
Reviewed October 6, 2013

The front entrance seems a little sketchy when you first see this hotel from the rode but thankfully the first impression was very misleading. This hotel has a lot of historical charm mixed with modern amenities. The rooms very spacious and the bathrooms were the biggest on my whole trip. The breakfast buffet was expansive; their omelettes were quite tasty. Having dinner (okay, in my case wine and ice cream) outside under the night sky was a treat. There are places to relax outside the rooms to enjoy the cool breezes. Considering how close it is to the buzz of the city and shopping streets, the hotel was very quiet and calm. Overall, excellent hotel. As a petite female traveler, I felt safe here.

This was really an oasis in a crazy busy town as soon as you stepped onto the road outside madness took over.....
Staff were not as chatty as I expected or had experienced in other establishments but it was a lovely atmosphere the pool was lovely and although surrounded by the hotel kept out street noise and you really did not feel you were in the middle of town, it is a fantastic base for the trip to the Amber fort.
Service was a little slow for drinks. Enjoyed the food at both the help yourself and the menu options.

It appeared the mosque was next door to our room which coming from the uk woke us up very early when we did not expect it, you do get used to it though. The bathroom and bedroom were massive we had two big beds in our room and a lounge area.

Jaipur its self appears very poor and smelt of urine, not exactly pleasant. during. the day it was a lot quieter and not as many people around so was a lot nicer.

The good points : great little palace with beautiful little garden and terraces, quiet, nice service, pretty little pool
The not-so-good points : awfully freezing air-conditioning that is difficult to switch off, food buffet rather average (we were on half-board) and do NOT leave your postcards at the hotel desk, although they swear they are going to put them in the mail for you... they never arrived.

Due to a poor hotel selection by an unprofessional tourist travel agent, we moved hotels to Mandawa Haveli where we were warmly welcomed by Viccas on arrival. From the street you would not believe what was behind the fence, total contrast.

Green grass, water feature, calm, quiet garden and refreshing pool! Haveli is an old mansion with many rooms converted for hotel type accom. This one is a beautiful example. Room was huge, the bathroom alone was bigger than many hotel rooms. Great water pressure, hot water comfortable bed, spotlessly clean linen - actually everything spotless.

It was very quiet not many people staying at this time, staff were professional and friendly and attentive to our needs. We booked massage, which meant bring people in from outside. This was not so good, 1250rupee, dingy room, and a bit of oil and patting, no substance to that massage unfortunately.

We do absolutely recommend the Mandawa Haveli though!

We stayed here for 3 nights and absolutely loved this haveli style hotel. It really gave us the flavour of Jaipur and Rajastan that we were looking for. Lovely big spacious rooms (we had a suite), clean, beautifully decorated. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating to our needs - we were three in a room so we got a big double bed, and a fold bed - there was lots of room in the suite, not cramped at all.

This hotel was lovely. My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights during our tour of India and loved it. Unlike the other hotels we has stayed in the Mandawa Haveli was set in beautiful grounds where you could relax in the evenings after the long/hot days sightseeing. The hotel was nicely tucked away from the hustle and bustle of everything.

We thoroughly enjoyed the alfresco dining at the hotel restaurant, it was a lovely way to end the day. The food (especially the buffet) and service was also great and we could not have asked for more. There was also an evening puppet show to see each evening where the staff would also talk to guests about the craftsmanship involved in making the puppets, which is held outside in the gardens.

Our room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was especially large! Although simple in its decoration it had everything we could have wanted. One drawback to the room was that there was no safe. However there is only one room key which stayed with us during our time there.

We didn’t use the pool whilst staying at the hotel, however it did look lovely :0)

Once we got to the hotel we were very warmly welcomed. One of the receptionists took us around the hotel and showed us our room. We were quite surprised by the size of the room as it was very spacious and yet equipped with everything. The room gave a feeling like we were living in the past like kings. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the service was very personalized just like the food. The menu choices was very vast and very delicious. Overall i would recommend anybody visiting Jaipur to stay in the Mandawa Haveli. It is definitely a choice you wont regret.
