Reviewed March 2, 2013

The only (very slight) inconvenience of the Rajvilas is that it is located in a seedy part of town, away from many of the sights. Bear in mind that although Jaipur isn't a big city (for Indian standards), traffic is pretty complicated. But the hotel is an oasis! Incredibly grounds, attentive service, many smiles from everyone. We got upgrade to a villa with our our private pool and 2 full baths, plus a mini-kitchen.

Room Tip: No bad rooms. We got an upgrade but you can't go wrong here.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for choosing to stay with us and for taking time to review your experience.

I am glad to know that you had an overall excellent stay and felt that the service was attentive and friendly. Our team is our biggest asset and they constantly deliver superlative service to create special memories for all our guests. Feedback such as yours encourages them to enhance their efforts and improvise further.

Our resort is indeed an oasis of 32 acres of sprawling lush green gardens - ideal to relax and unwind after tours in the vibrant pink city. Thank you for acknowledging and appreciating the serene ambience at Rajvilas.

We are only 8 kms from the pink city but traffic till early this year was tricky. However, with the opening of a tunnel through the hills we have a faster access to the city and places of tourist interest. I am confident that our guests will benefit from this.

Please plan another holiday with us soon. We look forward to welcome you back and assure you of another memorable experience.

Best regards,

If you've ever wondered what it's actually like to be treated like royalty, try this place. Total luxury, great food, wonderful service from the moment you arrive, to the moment that you leave. My only regret? Indian food in London will forever disappoint - the specialist Indian restaurant here is astonishingly good. Please go - you'll love it

Room Tip: The pool area is lovely, but the grounds are quite extensive, so ask for a room near the pool

It was the recommendation of our friends that we stayed in this resort when we decided to do a tour of Rajasthan and we were so grateful we did. Like an oasis in the dessert, you are surrounded by lush greenery the moment you enter. We arrived at night and we were quickly urshered to our suite by the check in staff. I could remember the faint smell of flowers scented the air. The magic continued when we arrived at our luxurious suite under a tent. Evoking a sense of old world charm, the experience makes you feel like you are back in the hay days of grand travel and exploration. We had a beautiful breakfast at the outdoor section of our suite and our butler was such a nice man, who full pride and passion for his work as he explained to us the beautiful of Jaipur. After a day of exploring Jaipur, it is a great reprieve to return to the hotel and relax at its beautiful swimming pool . Staying at Rajvilas has indeed been one of the big highlight of our Rajasthan trip.

We had. 2 night stay at the Rajvilas on our golden triangle tour to India. All the hotels on our tour was Oberoi, and have to say that this hotel did not dissapoint. Again from the minute we arrived to the minute we left the staff could not do enough for us. Our room was amazing as were the facilities of the hotel. We dined outside both nights under the stars listening to local people playing instruments. If travelling to India and to Jaipur then I would definately recommend this hotel. Thanks for a great stay.

This review is for all 4 of the Oberoi Hotels in India we stayed during our trip last September: in Agra, Jaipur, Udaipur and New Delhi. Each and everyone of the hotels was beautiful, great service and very good food. If may be a bit more pricey conparing with other hotels in India but their special of the tour of India pakage made the price reasonable. With wonderful and very fulfilling breakfast every morning and a strickly no tipping policy, one get one's money worth.

My wife and I stayed at the Rajvilas as part of my wife's 50th birthday celebrations. Unfortunately, as it was peak season we could only get a premier room as opposed to one of the tents. But this did not detract from our stay there. After being welcomed at the hotel the head chef came out to meet us to assure us that as we were vegetarian his team would ensure that we were catered for. Every day for breakfast there were eggless pastries specially made for us and at dinner the eggless dessert each night was simply outstanding.
The staff are all professional and well trained. Special mention for Shiva at The Surya Mahal who ensured that my cup of tea was exactly as I had requested - ( one day he made it himself to get it just right; For me the right cup of tea sets me up for the rest of the day)
The Spa was great, my wife and I tried their signature treatment and were extremely happy with the package.
All in all a fantastic relaxing experience in Jaipur.

Room Tip: The further away from the main hotel reception the better as the walk back in the gardens is a must...
