“Felt like a Maharaja”
Reviewed July 20, 2010

We have arrived this hotel late at night after a long train trip from Agra. Even though our train ticket was first class AC you may bet how unbelievable it was. I am not even talking about the train stations and the people, you have to see it, it is indescribable. You should lower your expectations about train travel in India. Hopefully the whole story twisted 360 degrees when we arrived Rambagh. When we first saw the gates and the garden, we realized that we made the right choice. The extraordinary scents of Jasmin and Mandarin oils strike us when we enter the lobby. First time in my life we proceed right to our room and made all the check-in arrangements in the room, with a very kind representative. We learn that they have upgraded our room to a historical suite which was a real home to a real Royal back at the times. You should enroll to Taj Inner Circle program before your arrival, therefore your chances for an upgrade increases. Overall our first impressions was excellent and the to be honest it was a real shock after train travel but we have quickly adopted to it.

Overall in our 2 day stay with my wife everything was like a fairy tale. The palace was not big but elegant. The gardens and the bird life gives you the tranquility you might be missing for a long time. As I have said it was like a dream world. The people are so kind that you may feel yourself as a rude person compared to them. The restaurants are also nice and the European food was the best compared to other places in India. The chicken burger is maybe the closest thing to a real burger that you can find in whole India. The only negative thing if you call it negative, was that there was no open buffet breakfast. So definitely get the rooms with breakfast otherwise you might find the breakfast menu a little bit expensive. But if you get the room with breakfast you can order everything for free.

Overall it is a little bit pricey but it worths every penny. So don't even think about it if you have resources and spoil yourself. You will feel like a Maharaja.

I stayed at rambagh palace for 2 days and the place was luxurious... the staff was very co-operative and well behaved
The campus is very large and has a typical palace feel.
One can dine out in the evening and enjoy the colors of the Pink city.
Swarn Mahal restaurant is a must visit if you are in the city ... the theme is gold and the food is awesome.

We were there with my wife during our 10 day trip accross Rajasthan and simply looved it. When we arrived we had the chance of being upgraded to a suite which was bigger than our appartement. Service is second to none with the staff from the hotel knowing which room you are in (no need to repeat it endlessly). The place is a wonderful one, with a great location (near Jaipur) even though it feels like you are completely in the countryside.

We had dinner in the restaurant and even though the Indian restaurant was closed, the "international" one was serving the indian cuisine which was delicious, with staff making sure the whole experience (cannot call it another word) was a success, and it was!

When we left the next morning the staff made sure we had a little something to eat for the journey (water, fruit juice, small cakes).

One only (very small comment), in a palace, I would expect the Internet to be free. It feels a little bit cheap to be charged extra for using Internet nowadays (but this is not a Rambagh specificity, all Taj are like this).

We will definitely go there again (we were even thinking about going there only for that!) and if you have scheduled to go to Jaipur and are not staying in this hotel, it's still time to change, if you are going there and haven't chosen yet, dont even think about going anywhere else, if you can cope with the budget (but hey, it's a palace! :) )

This hotel was the most luxurious of the hotels we stayed in on our recent trip to India. The management has done an excellent job maintaining the hotel and grounds. The rooms are gorgeous, the bathrooms were nice as well. The food was outstanding in the hotel restaurants, reasonably priced, and service was flawless. I only wish there were more hotels this well run in other parts of the world. Well worth the cost!

Located in the heart of the city The Taj Rambagh..
The fountains, flowers and the sweet fragrance. Its all mind blowing. A stay of 5 days at the pink was really enjoyable because of the maharaja treatment at the Rambagh.

And let me describe the food, well at the dinner it was really difficult to control ur hands at the delicious and the mouth watering food. The other amenities were all great and i loved my stay at the Rabmagh.
