Not surprisingly called the "Jewel of Jaipur". A beautiful hotel typical of all the Taj Hotels, although the Lake Palace in Udaipur and Umaid Bhawan in Johpur probably topped it.. The room was beautiful and overlooked the grounds with Peacocks on our balcony.
Service was attentive and friendly. All restaurants were of exceptional quality even down to the railway carriage set in the beautiful grounds.
Peacocks abound and the hotel is a veritable oasis in the middle of a bustling city. Don't miss out on the historical tour of the hotel with a complimentary glass glass of bubbly.
Also, the pool area is the perfect place to relax.

The Rambagh is a very attractive building set in lovely and spacious grounds. You can hear a little background noise from the surrounding city when outside in the gardens (as you would expect for a central location), but the rooms were very quiet. They were also comfortable, well equipped and extremely clean. We arrived from Agra, where I had somehow picked up Delhi Belly (!), and the Rambagh was a great place to relax. Have a walk around the garden, a free trip around the grounds in the horse and carriage (short but fun), or in a vintage car. We ate in the restaurant, which was very good, and a beautiful room; and Steam, the converted railway train - "lite bites" here but very good, and believe it or not, the best pizza I've had in the world (including Italy, and New York). We visited the speciality restaurant on our hotel tour (daily at 5 pm, and while it might sound a bit twee, it was very good). The speciality restaurant was sumptuous, no other word for it, but sadly we didn't have time to dine there. We did have a lot of coffee on the terrace, which was very pleasant. We liked the Rambagh a lot - highly recommended!

Room Tip: Hard to advise. We had a room at one side, with a view of trees nearby. Not the most exciting view...

Four years ago I had a gin & tonic in the polo bar, I decided then that I must stay here. So this March my dream came true, and my very brief stay was everything I hoped it would be. From the moment we were met at the entrance we were transported into another world. The staff couldn't do enough, our room superb; The rose petals floating on an already run bath seemed to encapsulate the attention to detail. The dining room was splendid, cuisine and service first class. This is a hotel not to be missed off your itinerary in India. Breakfast on the lawn was so relaxing, I wished we had stayed longer. Maybe another time?

Room Tip: Stay in a heritage room, we had 317 which was breath taking.

The room was stunning, the staff charming and the grounds lovely with over 100 peacocks in residence! Having arrived exhausted straight from our flights arrival in Delhi & then the long drive in appalling traffic & roads to Jaipur

Room Tip: corner rooms are specious and good

Compared with the Taj Lake Palace in Udaipur and the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur the welcome at the Rambagh Palace was quite normal: few sprinkled petals, a small garland and a cold towel; we can’t remember having a cold welcome drink.

Before they even showed our room we made a point of asking the duty Manager for a nice Palace room as we were staying for three nights coming from other two Taj Palaces properties and going to another Taj Hotel when in Bhutan. We were taken to a pokey and stale smelling room that didn’t look anything like the photo of the Palace room type in the hotel website. We went straight back to the duty Manager to ask for another room, he tried to convince us that it was a Palace room, when we firmly refused the room, the duty Manager after sometime managed to find us a proper Palace room.

Finally our room was spacious, with high ceilings, four poster bed, separate dressing area and a nice bathroom. The air conditioning system was very effective, the shower powerful and the room was kept spotless. We could not fault the efficiency and service provided by the housekeeping team.

Later that day we had the General Manager Mr Manish Gupta and the Executive Assistant Manager Mr Parvinder Singh Bual coming to us to apologise personally for the inconvenience caused on our arrival. They were very good at damage control, as from then on they made sure the service provided to us was impeccable. It shows how sometimes the top management has to step in to recover from under management mistakes, and they did it very well as we had a very pleasant time during the rest of our stay.

The staff at the Steam and Rajput Room restaurants were superb, they were very accommodating to our dietary needs. We enjoyed the wood fired pizza at the Steam, and would recommend not only for the delicious pizza but also for the atmosphere of the old steam engine train.

Having stayed at the three Taj Palaces in India it is only fair to compare, and the Umaid Bhawan in Jodhpur is the absolute winner. If you haven’t included Jodhpur in your trip think again because the Umaid Bhawan is a must and Jodhpur is a lovely city to visit. We thought that the Mehrangarh Fort is twice as beautiful and impressive as the Amber Fort in Jaipur. In comparison with Jaipur and Udaipur, Jodhpur has been sadly overlooked.

Room Tip: Make sure you get what you payed for.

In india many palaces have been converted to hotels, but this is a real palace, as we imagine it in fairy tales. The property is huge, which blocks the noise and other distractions of Jaipur out. Do try the indian restaurant, where the chef believes in the delicate taste instead of the burning mouth. Enjoy the pool, although the magnificent internal one is not heated and it was cold. The service is excellent and this place is really a " leading hotel of the world"

It is very hard to write about this hotel that would take you into so many words of amazing, fantastic etc. This hotel, staff and rooms is what it is all about. We have never felt so spoilt. We felt like royalty. We had 5 nights here and really didn't want to leave. We used the pool and the spa and the two, two hour massages we had were worth there weight in gold. After 21 game drives before we arrived we were feeling shaken from all the jeep rides. These massages were just what the doctor ordered. The food was wonderful. We both love Jaipur as a city and there is so much to see and do. If you want to feel special for a few days then do stay here, you wont regret it.

Room Tip: I would think any room will be fantastic.
