“Not really for the Jaipur traveller...”
Reviewed May 7, 2011

Located a little outside the walled city of Jaipur, this hotel's plus is only its very close proximity to Amer fort- which is walking distance from this place. but for all shopping (which is the biggest draw in Jaipur, specially for girls!!) this hotel is way outside. and with taxis and autorickshaws charging a bomb for the place, it is recommended to stay somewhere in the city. We stayed there for a friend's wedding so did not have too much of a problem. rooms are decent.

I had my wedding at the KK Royal Days and it was fabulous. We had reserved the entire hotel for 2 days to serve as accomodation for our guests. The hotel has two lawns which can be used for various functions, one of them large enough for a gathering of over a 1000 people. The swimming pool though was closed for renovation.

The hotel is located on Amber Road, very close to the very popular Amber fort. The view is breathtaking with hills all around. It is best to have your own transport at the hotel as getting a public transport to the city is slightly difficult.

The rooms of the hotel are well equipped. The deluxe rooms also have a in room safe. The hotel also has a disco in the basement.

The food is not that great though. We were disappointed by the varierty and taste at the breakfast buffet.

I would recommend the hotel to someone who wants to have a get together, or hold a function. For staying when visiting jaipur, i would say it is not a very good idea as it is quiet some distance from the major attractions of the city.

On my last trip to India I couldn't wait to get to Jaipur, because I knew arriving at KKR would be like arriving home. With musicians playing as we stepped off the bus, the management and staff were all waiting in the lobby to greet us with wet towels, welcome drinks and garlands.

Check-in and luggage delivery was a breeze. Our rooms, with beautiful views over the famous Amer Fort, were immaculate. The fresh flowers a welcome touch.

Breakfast was an elaborate buffet and the cappucinos a popular choice served with smiles. I suspect they secretly named us the cappucino monsters. For dinner we had pre-arranged a cooking demo, which was a wonderful experience. The team went to so much trouble to set this up for us. The demo was interactive and fun for everyone, even the men enjoyed it! Dinner was a feast!

This is possibly the best location in Jaipur as one is so close to the fort. This means you don't have to get up too early in order to avoid the inevitable queues for the elephant rides to the fort.

KKR is a family owned hotel, which gives guests an authentic Indian hospitality experience. We stayed at five star deluxe properties in other cities and none came close to this kind of service! I can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the fort!

Visted Jaipur on our travels to Rajasthan. Stayed in this hotel for husbands birthday. We booked a Rajasthani suite online, however they confirmed we could not have this suite because the "owner" has booked it for an offcial (bad service)
Arrived at the hotel, we couldnt check in because we did not have our passports with us, fair enough, however again the service, atrocious! The manager then came out apologised and we checked in and arranged for passport details to be faxed to the hotel.
The room - well, apparantly this suite was meant to be one of the best suites the hotel could offer. The room had a jaccuzi, however the bathroom looked old and worn down.
The hotel is too far from the main city
Next day breakfast - Atroucious. The selection of food was ok, however the service was very bad. Indian people dont understand the queuing system. I stood in the queue for 20 mins however the chef chose to servce people who can after me first! Im indian myself, maybe they thought serving foreigners first is good service!! The hotel is in a isolated location near Amber Fort and quite a distance from Jaipur town centre. But it seems to be near the main road to Agra or Delhi. So it is easy to get to and get out when you arrive or leave.

We came with a large tour group. There are other tour groups that stay here as well, the hotel seems to be popular with tour companies.

All our meals are included and the food is fine if a little lacking in variety. We brought our own cup noodle but we didn't realize that there was a kettle inside the cupboard (beneath the TV set) until later.

All in all a good stay. Strangely, the only English news channel on TV is NHK World.

Travelling on big group, this hotel was selected for us. I was impressed by the large size room and things in generally good condition. Although people from different countires arriving at the hotel at different part of the night, the corridor can transfer noise easily. Other than that, I slept quite well. Breakfast and dinner were fine too, with Indian and Westeren selections, live Indian music at dinner time. I was hoping to use their steam sauna to relieve my fatigue after a full day, unfortunately, it closed at 8pm! Other than that, the hotel was ok. Free wifi provided at the lobby.
