we satyed in this hotel on 28th March 2014. as usual, we find all the comforts expected from Oberoi Group. location is probably the best to see jaipur, little far from crowded Market but very approachable from all the monuments.
quality of food and hospitality was very very good.
i strongly recommend Oberoi Group properties

We went to Jaipur in the month of June 2013 and stayed in the Trident Jaipur. Its location is good but it is not very big property. Rather, it is a small property. In front of JAL Mahal.

You can have food outside the hotel as well in the near by place.

Room Tip: Please go with garden view room

This is a very average hotel (by Indian 4-5 star standards) with some nice features, well meaning staff and very expensive prices for average food.

Good points

The staff are polite, kind and well meaning
The pool area is very nice.
The site is safe and seems secure,
Good views of the lake from some rooms.
They offer interconnecting rooms

Bad Points

The rooms are small.

Whilst the staff are very kind and well meaning, the service is not slick in some areas.
Our room had some food left in it on arrival, a few biscuits on a plate under cling film. It was not clear if this was for us or if they had been left by a previous guest
These were still there 3 days later.
I now wonder if they were already there from previous guests
We also had a glass of wine one night in our room, again the glass was not cleared for duration of our stay.
The in room fridge was not checked daily and so not replenished.

The bar staff seem generally very good.
However the price of the drink and food is very expensive for the setting.

The pool staff are very kind as are the dinning room staff.
However the menus are very limited.

We did not eat here in the evenings.
we did have lunch - was ok but very pricey - 650 rupees for a few chicken nuggets and chips. Drinks are equally expensive.
Portion size varied widely over the two days.

On our final morning, we ordered from the menu for breakfast rather than the buffet.
Massala uttapam
This usually takes less than 10 mins
we were in a rush and had allowed 30 mins for breakfast
our order was not fulfilled despite asking several times and explaining we had to leave soon.
I left without breakfast.

We did eat in town and by contrast at the Taj Jai mahal - exceptional service and food.
Location wise Ok but you need a driver.

Overall a disappointing stay.
I cannot comment on the value of the room as we had a tpur operator deal, however this was not a five star experience. This could have been forgiven if it weren't for the five star price.

Room Tip: Choose a higher floor and lake view if you must stay here. There are better hotels for the money.

Booked this hotel looking for a "resort style" for 3 days of time from touring. This hotel is on the edge of Jaipur overlooking the lake and the Jal Mahal (water palace) on the road leading to the Amber fort. This hotel caters to tour groups which means that during the day we had the hotel and the pool area to ourselves. When the tour groups arrive lat in the day the pool area and the dining room are busy. We had a room on the fourth floor (420) with a view of Jal Mahal (stunning). Even number rooms have this view. I would classify this hotel a 4 star (not 5) as the rooms are smallish and there is only one restaurant. The drinks in the bar are pricey. I would recommend this hotel because of the staff, everyone (front desk, restaurant, doorman, and pool staff) were very engaging and some called us by name. What was very refreshing was that the staff were not looking for tips but they do want you to complete a survey when you check out.
Highly recommend.

Room Tip: Even numbers on the fourth floor for a view of Jal Mahal

Stayed here as part of a group tour of India. The location was excellent, right across from a scenic lake with the Jal Mahal in the middle of it. It's a popular spot for locals and tourists to take in the scenery. And it's a short (and inexpensive) tuk-tuk ride into town to see the other sights.

The room was decent, not luxurious. Comfortable bed, but thin towels. The food in the restaurant was expensive but very good. I had a lamb biryani for lunch that was absolutely exquisite!

Since I was on a group tour, I don't know how much the room cost, but I imagine it was somewhat expensive. But this is a good choice in Jaipur if you can afford it.
