Owner description: Galtaji Temple, Jaipur A pre-historic Hindu pilgrimage site, the Galtaji Temple, is located only 10km away from Jaipur. One of the jewels of Jaipur, the temple complex encompasses natural fresh water springs and 7 holy 'kunds' or water tanks. Among these kunds, the 'Galta Kund', is the holiest one and is believed to never get dry.

“Not a tourist place”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 15, 2013

I dont know why people love going in the midst of all those monkeys. It is really scary. A monkey snatched a packet from me almost causing a heart attack. Moreover, in the so called bathing area, a;; there are are a couple of boys roaming arounf. No girl can stand stand close to it.

“Not a temple. a huge complex”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 22, 2013

Everyone needs to know, the complex has more than just a temple. It has many temples, other structures, gardens, is a bit of a trek. There is also a small place where tourists take a dip, but not even worth entering with a female.

“Monkey business”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2013

This temple is situated some way outside the city and to get there one has to drive through some very pleasant acacia woodland along nice country roads. I met a very good young guide there who led us through the while place. The priests wee most welcoming and accepted a modest offering having welcomed us with the usual ceremonial gestures. Happily there were few tourists around but many local people had cone 'to take the waters' and they seemed to be enjoying themselves very much. There was certainly a feeling here of being close to the heart of India without any wish to romanticise that.

“Beware of your ancestors!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2013

The walk up to the temple is pretty. But be very very careful - too many monkeys around. They are very aggressive and one has to be very careful about not putting ones hand in the pocket - they immediately sense that you have something edible and do not hesitate to attack
