“A work of art and the best beds in India”
Reviewed February 18, 2013

I was lucky enough to stay at Pearl Palace Heritage for several nights during January and February 2013. While it is often full, the owner Mr Singh went out of his way to accommodate me for a long stay and always rearranged things to try to keep me in the same room. The hotel is beautifully designed inside and out and each room is unique, spacious and comfortable with a huge flat screen TV. The best part is the pocket spring mattress. It is located in a quiet, clean and safe neighbourhood. It is family run, homely and the service from housekeeping staff is prompt and genuine but unobtrusive. Whilst the hotel is still under construction, the noise is kept to a minimum and I barely noticed it. I would highly recommend this hotel which is truly more of a boutique guest house. And I am fussy. Just ask Raj Kumar, the manager and the sweetest person you could hope to meet! I can't wait to visit again.

We were picked up promptly from the train by the ever smiling Salim (tour arranger par excellence) and quickly checked in. Our psychedelic, funky looking room was huge and the bathroom was spotless with the bedroom comfortable if a bit dusty underfoot. The water for a shower was cool in the evening and hot in the morning. There were renovations going on but only during the day and we had a fab night's sleep, it was so quiet.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are off the street and quieter

I found out about this hotel from a friend who visited Jaipur last month and stayed here. He said he would recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Jaipur. And so I trusted his judgement and booked a room at Pearl Palace Heritage. I have to say that we were pleasantly surprised to find this hotel above our expectations.
We stayed here for three nights and enjoyed every bit of it. They showed us a couple of differently themed rooms and they were all so BEAUTIFUL! At that price there is no other place I would stay in. Excellent value for money. By far the most exquisite rooms I have ever seen!
The hotel has a nice relaxing atmosphere and it is strategically located in a peaceful area, away from the city traffic and yet so close to the main tourist attractions !
Like my friend and everyone else I too would highly recommend this lovely boutique guesthouse!

Frankly, I don't know where everyone else stayed because it certainly wasn't our experience. I don't remember the room we stayed in, but though it was spacious, we found the decor over the top silly (red pillows and blue lights) that made us feel more like we were in the wild Wild West than in a heritage hotel in Rajasthan. If that was all, I wouldn't fault it, however, as decor is personal taste (although with the blue lights off there was minimal light in the room).. However, we found it poorly run by staff that were so lackadaisical that they bordered on rudeness. There was work going on in or next to the hotel that lasted far beyond the posted completion time. We arrived in the evening the first night and only then discovered the restaurant was at the other facility, which was frustrating as we were too tired to go out so did not have any dinner that night. The computer that was set up in the room did not work, nor did the room safe. The staff didn't speak English well and didn't really understand any of our questions. When we did go over to the original Pearl Palace, we were surprised by how pleasant and well run it was, although we also noticed that the owner was there and the staff there functioned like a well run facility. Perhaps we stayed at the new hotel when the backup crew was there, but despite the trappings of luxury, we found the place poorly managed and disappointing for a so-called boutique.

A very nice room, but I don't really have anything else much good to say about this place.
Im sure it will be an excellent place when it is finished.
Currently there are only about four or five rooms and the rest of the hotel is being renovated. Which means constant buiding noise throughout the day.
Our room wasn't cleaned whilst we were out and even when it was we had to ask for clean towels.
We had cold water in the morning for a shower and tepid water in the evening.
The reception staff are nice enough, but can't really help out much with even the most simple of requests - a total contrast to the staff in the sister hotel, the Pearl Palace.
For breakfast, you can have breakfast delivered from the Pearl Palace (cold), walk to the other hotel, or take a shuttle.
I wouldn't have minded any of these features, but none of them were mentioned prior to us arriving and checking in.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else

Dear Guest ,
I apologize for any inconvenience faced by you during your stay with us . Due to the reception staff being away on leave the temporary staff could not make your stay comfortable for which I am truly sorry . Our regular staff always makes it a point to inform every guest about the shuttle service available any time to the restaurant at the Hotel Pearl Palace and we make sure any noisy work is done during the day when guests are out sightseeing .But the staff did not do this during your check-in for which I sincerely apologize .There is a notice displayed at the reception informing guest about the renovation timings .
We hope to serve you again in the future with better services .
Warm regards
Mr.Singh

No wonder this place is reviewed so well. It was one of the greatest experiences we had in India! We stayed in the Jaisalmer room and it was wonderful. Very spacious, clean and so much character!
A must stay in Jaipur! Also you get a free rickshaw ride to the pearl palace hotel where they have a great restaurant! Book ahead!
