“great place to stay”
Reviewed October 19, 2011

After traveling a few monthes away from home i found my way with a couple of friends at Rajputana's guesthouse. Preti came and picked us up from the bus stop. Aside from the Guesthouse being tidy and clean what truely made my experience extraordinary was the hospitality of Preti and her family. We sat with them to have our meals and in the evening shared their living room. They were helpfull in planning, advising and organizing the trips in Japiur. It was without a doubt one of my favorite places in India and its due only to Preti and her family. I feel like Ive learned alot from them, theyre truely amazing people and made my stay very much memorable. Out of the many different places Ive stayed in India I think the Rajputana's guesthouse was my favorite.

Priti & her family were great- nothing was too much trouble for them....organising rickshaws, enquiring about train tickets etc so we had nothing to worry about & staying with them was a pleasure. The family are so welcoming, we'd spend the morning chatting to the family, over the lovely breakfast they had prepared for us, and they would give us great tips & local knowledge of things to see & do In Jaipur. They even invited us to have an evening meal with them which was fabulous. We loved staying here & would definitely come again- without a doubt

Priti runs the guesthouse which is her parents' home. There are currently 5 rooms, but there are plans to extend it. They looked after us tremendously well , came to pick us up at 11.30pm at the train station and cooked us food at midnight. The food is yummy and plentiful. Priti's mom's paranthas are a delight, as are Priti's curries that we wolfed down happily! Although the location of the guesthouse is not ideal (70 roupies by tuk tuk to the entrance of the old city. and there are railtracks next to the house), the compromise of being with such a nice and friendly family is well worth it. That was by far our best guest house of our trip. Priti came along with us one afternoon to help us haggle some clothes. Although we feel we got a good deal for some of those, for some others we felt we probably did not get a good price and she got a commission out of it. (priti escaped when we had to start haggling). That being said, the price of the rooms and food was defintely excellent value (probably the best value for money in terms of accommodation we had).
