We've been hesitant to book this hotel as it was brand new and original reviews were somewhat mixed. Nevertheless, my wife and I really loved the place, as the hotel really tries to bring a new dimension to 'heritage india'. If you don't love 'modern' interprations of indian design, or if you are looking for 'buzz and a lot of activities in the middle of the city' than stay away...if you love very special and supersize rooms with particular attention to hospitality in a peaceful environment, this could be a hotel for you.
We stayed 2 nights, the first night, the hotel was almost empty - nevertheless, we got upgraded to a suite...and we almost lost our appetite to go out and discover Jaipur as the room was at the same time very modern design and still very romantic - with a juge badroom...looking over the hills around Jaipur from the xxl-bed or terrace.
The restaurant (although not cheap) was without any doubt the best restaurant we visited during our stay in India...the food was superb with an impeccable service.
I agree with some comments that the hotel doesn't look finished yet and needs to 'grow' in warmth - also, some of the materials used to build does not look like to be ready to last for an eternity - but, nevertheless, we found the hotel one of the more special and 'daring' places we have visited during our stay in India.
I found the original reviews much too negative and would certainly recommend this hotel.
