“Beautiful hotel and fantastic staff”
Reviewed May 13, 2013

We stayed at the beautiful Royal Heritage Haveli earlier this month and had an amazing experience. The hotel itself is stunning, the food is delicious and the staff are very attentive.

Pradip and Raj looked after us really well and it was a pleasure to stay at the hotel.

The hotel is located off a busy road in Jaipur but as soon as you enter through the gates it is like paradise. The pool is also fantastic.

Date of stay: 2 nights April 2013.
Type of stay: Independent travel primarily by car on a two person tourist trip for nearly a month in Gujarat, Rajastan, Agra and Delhi.
Our budget: Medium to high depending on availability.

Summary: One of the best hotels we stayed in during our trip and service was comparable to the Udaipur Taj Lake Palace Hotel and Leela Palace in Delhi.

Service: Superb. The owners are Mr Pradip and Mrs Angelique Singh and while we did not meet the former we did meet the latter twice and she was helpful and charming on both occasions. Clearly they are leading from the front at this hotel. We also had contact beforehand with the manager Raj who personally confirmed our reservation and took our feedback at the end and were impressed by the cheerful (and apparently non-sexist – very refreshing) attitudes of the serving boys Bhanu, Pankai, Negi and Mithu.

I was unwell on the first night and just had some soup before retiring to bed with a fever. The hotel brought the soup to our room and I had it at the table before retiring. They refused to accept payment for this. On leaving they also chased down the car as we were driving off and insisted we take a packed lunch as Sariska National Park was a long way. They were only sandwiches but a few hours later after a tour of the Jaipur City Palace and the long drive to Sariska we sat looking at crocodiles and thanked the hotel as the sandwiches were delicious!

Cleanliness: Very good

Décor: Very good but could be more impressive. Our suite was large and very comfortable. It was 90% of the way to perfect.

Food and drink: Excellent Indian food (particularly the tandoori chicken and the honey aloo) and very good buffet breakfast. The chef Mr Prithvi is evidently talented. Service was very attentive.

Background noise: Pretty quiet. You would not believe you were so close the main road.

Other points:
Pool: Looked good but I didn’t get the chance to use it.
Gardens: Well kept.
They are closing for a few months to do further work on the hotel and I suspect it will be even better when they are done.

We were going to change our reservation to the Taj Rambagh Palace after our stay at Udaipur’s Taj Lake Palace but as it was late notice it would have cost us a night’s stay. We were very pleased we didn’t change it and will stay here again in a shot. Go to this hotel!

Dear Andrew & Christine,
Thank you for your review on The Royal Heritage Haveli, this former Hunting Lodge of the family of Jaipur. It is heartening to go through your review, which is very detailed. We are a property which is managed by a team of youngsters, whose aim is to see our guests are comfortable and ensure they feel like they are visiting a family home of yesteryear, being part of our extended family. The other Hotels of Taj as mentioned by you, have their own charm & beauty, and we do not compare ourselves anyway close to them. Nevertheless, thank you once again for the review posted by you.
Warm regards

We stayed here recently on our honeymoon and it was a real highlight for us. The rooms and grounds are fantastic and has a real colonial feel. It is very much a boutique hotel with its own identity and a big contrast to the bland multinational chains. The staff were very attentive and the food in the roof top restaurant was probably the best we had in India! Very reasonably priced as well. If you go to Jaipur staying here is an absolute must!

What a wonderful hotel, far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the City Centre yet near enough to see all the sights. Not that we saw many as we took advantage of this lovely Haveli and it's fantastic staff and chilled out for a couple of days. The rooms, the food, the grounds, the staff and by no means lastly the proprietor were great. Attention to detail everywhere from complimentary cold fresh juice on arrival to mosquito repellent provided at dinner. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone, even down to organising a doctors appointment and driving us to and from and collecting the prescription and the doctors was just around the corner. The food was lovely, some of the best that we have had during our trip in India. I can highly recommended this lovely Haveli and would definitely go back if in the area again!!

Room Tip: I had a peek at a couple of other rooms to ours and they were all lovely, if you are wanting a real...

We don't know where to start; everything you could ask for in a hotel and more. The grounds are immaculate, the rooms are spacious, cool and well furnished, everything is spotlessly clean, bathrooms are enormous with clean fresh towels and all sorts of goodies.
Breakfast has some real home from home treats to put a smile on your face, bacon that tastes of home, cereals and brown, sliced bread for toasting and best of all - Marmite! The evening meals, taken on the terrace are freshly cooked, tasty and reasonably priced. All in all a great package.
The outstanding feature was the service, nothing was too much trouble for our hosts and their staff, even a trip to the local doctors was arranged without fuss or furor. They are attentive without being intrusive, ever present without being in your face or space.
Without doubt - one of the finest hotels ever visited.

Room Tip: Choose any room - you will not be disappointed

In case you are looking for a comfortable, soothing, quiet and "service with a personal touch", then this is the place for you. A 200-year haveli, restored tastefully in Rajputana style, is discreetly located away from the city center, and yet not very far off from all the attractions. We drove down by car, and loved every bit of our time at the haveli.
Pradeep and team go the extra mile in making their guests feel royal.
For our return journey, we were given complimentary sandwiches and bottled water.
Thank-you Pradeep! for building a team with wonderful "customer service" attitude. We will certainly visit again!

Room Tip: Suites are wonderful!
