We reached the hotel at 11 a.m. Even though we had a booking, we had to wait for half an hour to get a room. We took 2 rooms but they were on different floors. One room was on first floor and the other one was on the third. The resturant was on the fourth floor. The stairs were rather steep and there was no lift. Rooms were small but clean, food was also okay. Room service was available without any extra cost. However, we were taken for a ride again when we had to pay Rs. 1000 for a half day trip covering three places in the city. While leaving the hotel, we had to pay additional tax even though we had a mail from the hotel saying the quoted room tariff was inclusive of tax. We wanted to go to the bus stand but no car was available and hence an auto was called. There were 4 of us but the autowallah refused to accommodate more than 3. Overall, an okay budget hotel if one does not expect professionalism and carry all the documents and ready to argue whenever required.

We got into conversation at the rail station with the young manager, who only mentioned the hotel when I showed him my list of possible places to stay, and asked his opinion.
He said if we went to see his hotel and didn't like it, he would drive us round to see all the others on my list. What could be fairer than that?
Well, it was beautiful, clean, comfy, painted in traditional designs, and with a balcony overlooking real life; people doing their washing, cooking, doing building work, and cleaning and painting to spruce their houses up for Diwali. The staff were pleasant and helpful, and the food in the rooftop restaurant was excellent (slightly let down by the loud and not very good Rajasthani folk music and 'puppetry') I am a fan of both those subjects, and have some really good stuff in my world music collection!
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Jaipur, and wanting a comfortable hotel with character. S.Almond.

Room tip: We had a room at the back, with balcony. Quiet and pleasant. Lockable cupboard was a welcome feature.

The hotel is kindof out of the way, in a neighbourhood that feels a bit run down, but we didnt experience any security problems. Getting to the sights was a fifty rupee riksha ride away, or we could take the five rupee bus running every ten minutes just behind the hotel.

The management was friendly, the rooftop restaurant okay, the breakfast was decently priced.

The rooms were very clean, the bed comfortable, and the internet really surprisingly fast.

Hot water was available round the clock, though sometimes you had to let it run for a bit before it actually kicked in.

It was possible to get 30% off the room price with a bit of haggling (we stayed 4 nights in the end)

The only negatives I can name is that it's away from the sights and the restaurant neighborhood, and kinda hard to find, otherwise it's a very good choice for sleeping in Jaipur, I would definitely pick it again.

Room tip: Upper you go, the better they are. Try to get a balcony, it's pleasant to have dinner there.
