This very nice haveli is in a quiet middle class area of Jaipur. We walked to the local shops down clean quiet streets. The haveli offered very charming, clean, prettily-decorated rooms with good bathrooms, lovely verandahs and terraces for those all important cups of tea, free wifi in reception and a packed breakfast to go with our early start. Recommended.

We stayed here as part of a group tour and found it to be one of the better hotels for our 2 week trip. Rooms are spacious, well equipped and up to the standard of most Western European locations. Breakfast and dinner were more than adequate, the only downside was that we waited nearly an hour for our dinner after ordering! When we asked for some bottles of Kingfisher beer, they had to send out to the local shop to get some.
Would stay here again but would consider a hotel nearer the centre of the city as this one is in a residential area away from the main attractions.

Room Tip: Rooms that face the central courtyard are plagued by telephones ringing at all hours and people talk...

Waiting for the formalities of the check-in, my husband and I were ushered into the beautiful lobby and given welcome drinks. This took away some of the tiredness after a long drive from Delhi. The staff were all friendly and ready to help. The restaurant offered excellent food. The room we stayed in was comfortable and clean. We were rather surprised to see the large, well-equipped bathroom. The overall ambience of the hotel gave us a feeling of being in a castle. A good place to stay although a bit far from tourist destinations.

Good service and reasonably clean, got to meet and talk to the owner who was a lovely lady. Room we were in was just above the restaurant and a little noisy apart from that no real complaints.

Probably rates between Average and Very Good

Mahal Khandela is an excellent hotel. The service and food are good, rooms are good.

The major problem with this hotel is its in the heart of the city and far from all the places to visit in Jaipur. There is also a lot of traffic when you have to go to this hotel and hence one ends up spending atleast an hour in traffic one way. This upsets the plans since nobody expects this much of traffic in jaipur.

If you have lot of time you can choose this hotel, else avoid and take a hotel near the city palace. Hope this helps others and you can avoid the wastage of time which I had to go through.

Stayed two night as part of a tour, spotless room with clean well-equipped bathroom. Pretty courtyard restaurant with big choice for buffet breakfast. Friendly staff and owner, free wi-fi available complete with lap-top if you don't have your phone or ipad. Was treated to the puppet show on the second night, a bit of local atmosphere, plus my husband had some of the special chicken biryani that was put on for some local visitors so he felt very privileged! It is in a quiet street and up-market area, we actually went for a walk (not something we did that often on our trip) and found a nearby mini-market and pharmacy which was handy, and bought some clothes as a local shopping mall. Loved Jaipur as a city, would really like to go back there.

It was my first stay in heritage hotel ever and I must admit it was very interesting experience.
Hotel is located in the quiet street and as I understood it was a kind of residential area. I was told it is very prestigious area to live and I felt very safe there. However, it's a bit far from the Old town.
Room was spacious enough and walls and ciling were decorated with very nice paintings. Bathroom was very big with boiler. All the toilettres and towels were there.
Next morning I saw fully equiped buffet breakfast but I was offered selection of indian and continental breakfast. Restaurant staff could bearly speak English. I took dinner in the hotel and have ordered a food with zero spices but felt myself like a dragon after first meal. Dessert was also failed.
Staff in the hotel is very good, extremely polite, hospitable, smiley and friendly.
In general, my curiosity was satisfied, but next time I would prefer to stay in the hotel that is more modern.
