We ended up at this restaurant cause we were closeby and the Lonely Planet had it on their list so we thought we'd give it a try. As some others have mentioned before, it is a very simple place without fancy decoration but we liked the food a lot and, especially cause we went for lunch, that's what mattered for us. It was probably not the cheapest place we ate at in India but it was still cheap enough. Would definitely recommend anyone to check it out.

Manager tried very forcefully to get us to order more than we wanted. The bill wasn't itemised and was overcharging us by a considerable amount. The cost of food is higher than Lonely Planet says - I could get cheaper food at my hotel. However - the food is pretty great and it stops me from giving them one star

This is a great restaurant in the heart of Jaipur. Its very easy to miss as its on the rooftops and the only access is up some steep stairs, however the staff seem to look out for anyone trying to locate it, so you will be met and pulled in by one of the waiters. With its friendly atmosphere, this family run business is one not to miss. The portions are large and the garlic nann is out of this world!
You can hear the hustle a bustle from the streets below and just relax whilst your food is being prepared.

We went here for a late lunch and loved it. It's certainly not 5 star dining but that is what adds to it's charm - watching the chef cook in the kitchen pit in front of you is great entertainment! It wouldn't surprise me if there are two menus (one for locals and one for tourists) as others have suggested, but we were happy with the food on offer and thought the price was reasonable.

Similarly to most others, we went here based on Lonely Planet recommendation, not having had the benefit of internet to check Trip Advisor beforehand. Oh dear. Despite it having been boiling hot for weeks, there were no sunshades on the terrace so we were forced into sitting in the dingy inside restaurant, which was full of locals with plates piled high...clearly not from the same menu we'd been given, where prices were more than our hotel - very few veg dishes below Rs 100 and black tea for Rs 25! We thought the food must be good to get such a glowing rep, and were starving so decided to try it reluctantly. Despite being stared at unashamedly by most of the men there (we have been in India long enough to know this is common, but not usually so intensely for so long) we were studiously ignored by the waiting staff (probably hoping we'd have to order more than the bottled water that appeared with the menu if they took long enough). After 15 min we left money for the water on the table and left. Suddenly they jumped into life from nowhere, but we kept walking. Reading the other reviews, sounds like we had a lucky escape.
