I have been staying at Ratan Niwas for last 5 years, and they have every time, succeed to make me happily come back again. Its a affordable very clean and comfortable place. There's always hot water and clean bedding. Its in a good safe location, close to bus and train stand, and there is always a rickshaw at the doorstep if you need transport. The 24 hours wi fi in your room, makes life easy. I love the typical Rajasthan painted interior, it give's a wonderful feel with a difference. The staff , are good, well trained , and the owners will go out of there way to help solving any problem, or assist you where they can. There is a wonderful coffee shop on the premises where you can eat wonderful dishes, they have excellent coffee and deserts to go crazy for, and still pay cheap prizes.
After 5 years, travelling woman alone, I can still honestly say this is the only place in Jaipur to come, for sure, and with owners with special hearts for travellers, they will defnitly see me again.

Travelling through India in 2004 I stayed in one of LP's fave's for Jaipur - now a dump. This time ended up at this fantastic hotel. Large, clean, tastefully decorated rooms with hot water, great wifi, super staff and a decent rooftop restaurant make this place a winner!
I signed up to tripadvisor just to rate this place - they made my 10 day business trip here a pleasure!
Highly recommend.

Managed to book a good sized room for a really good price (we are traveling on a budget) without any notice. Room and bathroom were both very clean and comfortable. The staff have been extremely helpful and even tried to fix my camera when I was having problems. Would definitely stay again. Only thing that lets it down is the rooftop restaurant. Otherwise brilliant!

Reasonable price, good location, friendly staffs, roof top restaurant was good, room was tidy and clean. The area hotel belonged was good, all walking distance to train station (it takes within 15 mins on foot) and to bazaar around 20 mins. We had to stay till late night because of train schedule and manager gave reasonable price to stay longer than check out time. We recommend stay!!

The reception at this hotel is manned by three goons - thick set, bearded men. All the other staff are of same type - fat, unshaven, unwashed. I had booked trip on agoda.com and throughout my stay theykept harassing me about not having received the communication from agoda. They had an internal miscommunication with the chap who had access to hotel's email not communicating with others. At check out they picked up a full fledged fight with me - solo female traveller, almost coming to blows with me while sorting out the miscommunication among themselves. All this when I had paid full in advance.
The room is tiny, with old and dirty furniture, fixtures, only window opening out to a filthy backyard. Restaurant is filthy, with staff lolling about on filthy seats.
Rates are too high for quality of place, in Jaipur excellent AC rooms are available for Rs.600-900 during off season.

Room Tip: Rooms are filthy, dont go

i remember about this guest, upon her arrival we asked her only once for the agoda voucher, however she said that the voucher is in the bag and would give it later. after that not even once we asked for the voucher as we already had a confirmation email from agoda, so logically the voucher was no longer required as her name was matched with her id card. she stayed for 7 nights at our hotel and not even once during the stay she complained about anything. only at the time of check-out, for no rhyme or reason she started shouting at our manager, and when i myself tried to talk to her she just wouldn't talk and keep on shouting, after asking her again she could not answer properly as she did not have any reason, it seemed that she had her own personal problem for which she just took out all the anger on us. the language she used was unacceptable, we being in an hospitality industry, not even once we answered her back. it seemed that it was our bad luck that it was her bad day.

This is one of the many properties built in Heritage style but the similarity end there only, Mr. Harish the owner of the property is a pleasant guy and always ready to help you out. The service is quite prompt , the property is quite neat and clean , the only thing they need to Improve is the bed sheets... , everything else is otherwise good and well maintained..
