We stayed in Devi Niketan during our Christmas holidays. We were 4 four of us with 1 infant. We were allocated the Deluxe room and both rooms were adjoining to each other which made it very easy for us to move between rooms.

Here is a summary of what is good and what can improve:

+ves -
Overall feel of the heritage hotel was one of warmth and comfort (even in the peak of Indian winter where rooms tend to be cold)
High ceilings with nice vintage furniture adding to the overall heritage feel
Very nice and clean rooms
Bed was nice and comfortable with warm and clean quilts
Room had a functioning heater
Kettle for making coffee and tea was provided with complimentary condiments
The staff washed my car and made it spick and span for my drive back
Admiral meets the residents in the morning during breakfast and shares the history of the place and will give tips for touring around the city

Areas of improvement -
Complimentary breakfast service needs serious improvement – if you don’t eat eggs, you have to make do with toasts only… other Indian fare is best avoided. Allow at least 10 to 15 mins for your tea /coffee and eggs to arrive.. service is slow
Linen and towels are worn out – needs change

Verdict –
Good place to stay if you like informal settings. I will recommend this place to all looking for a nice Indian family hotel.

Room Tip: Choose the deluxe room... a slight premium of approx INR 800/-

We would like to recommend Hotel Devi Niketan to all who visit Jaipur. It is ideally located in the very center of the city. The hotel is tastefully done up in Jaipuri style with frescos, staircase, and a courtyard. Naval memorabilia of Admiral Madhvendra Singh add to make it an interesting and memorable mix. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable with painting adorning each room. A couple of things that really stood out were the internet surfing provided in the lobby with 'honour rules' wherein the hotel guest had to keep a tab on the usage himself/herself and pay up; the simple but ample and tasty breakfast in continental and Indian style; the courteous and helpful staff; and the doctor on call who was very helpful when my wife was unwell. All in all this was a very pleasurable stay with the hotel and the staff providing the perfect ambiance. -Rahul, Sushama, Tanay, and Parth Kumar

How would you like to live at the ancestral home with the Raja of Chomu? Or better yet with the Chief of Staff of the Indian Armed forces and Admiral of the Indian Navy?

Devi Niketan is a wonderful living history of the Chomu ruling family, but more than that you are hosted by the wonderful and gracious Admiral Madhvendra Singh.

The Rooms were big and the breakfast good. We enjoyed our dinners as they were home cooked and the staff has a military discipline but very kind. Good central location.

Hope to visit again

Room Tip: The Suites are a good value

We are really impressed by Admiral Madhavendra Singh, when we visited the heritage hotel Devi Niketan. He has decorated every room and every floor of the hotel by all the Naval memorabilia. The rooms are spacious, clean and decorated by paintings. The swimming pool is also very clean and well maintained. The lawns are very well mowed and are lush green.
The quality of food is excellent. The staff of the hotel take very good care of the guests.
Overall the experience is like you are staying in some Royal Palace at Jaipur.
We would like to recommend Devi Niketan, must stay for the Royal Treatment.

This hotel is a good option for a well priced peaceful stay in Jaipur. Admiral Singh and all the staff were charming and polite. I was working in Jaipur and needed a calm respite from meetings and spending the day careering around the city in a rickshaw, My room was very comfortable, I always slept well. I loved the fact the Australian flag was raised in the dining room during my stay . Nice touch!

Room Tip: I splashed out on a deluxe double room on the ground floor towards the garden which I assume would b...

I was travelling with family first time to jaipur and was looking for and good and affordable hotel to stay. My choice of Devi Niketan Heritage Hotel proved to be the right choice.

The place is very near to the station and is at the centre of the new part of the city.

The owner Shri Madhavendra Singhji (retired Admiral of Indian Navy and from the Royal Family ) personally takes care of the facility with his team of staff and he is very passionate about even the smallest thing when it comes to the facilities. I am very convinced that he certainly does this as a passion more than as a business.

He also gave valuble suggetions on sightseeing which helped in seeing the right spaces rather than going all over. His morning rounds in the hotel taking stock and enquiring of the wellbeing is a real treat to watch and experience. Such courtesies are the things which make a totally nice feeling.

The staff are very courteous and the facilities are very good. The rooms ( we booked a deluxe room) are spacious with decorated high celings and the bath is very spacious). The lawns and theswimming pool are well maintained. In fact you can see many varieties of birds and in fact we also saw three peacocks there in the morning.

The breakfast is very hyginene and good. The dinner which we ordered was very good and in fact i had to request our host to reduce the quantity as it they serve good home made food and in large quantity. In fact he does not run a restaurant but sends food if we inform them before 4 pm and from his kitchen. They live next door.

The heritage hotel lives upto its name. The living room and the dinning room and all immaculately maintained and in fact has the royal grandeur. The displays are worth reading and watching.

As we checked out i took a family photo along with Shri Madhavendra Singhji as a matter of great regard for such a wonderful person who hosted us with such politeness as a choice collection in my tour albums and would certainly love to go back and stay there on my future trips as well.

I gladly recommend Devi Niketan to all those who would like to enjoy affordable Regal Hospitality at jaipur.

Our room was very large, with a good bathroom, well-equipped (with WiFi) and calm. The atmosphere is incredible with all the "heritage" furniture and the admiral Singh is a very nice person. Service was perfect and the staff was willing to help when needed. This guest house is a very good starting point to visit Jaipur.
