“Quaint old world charmer”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

Don't judge this book by its cover. The sign outside is damaged but you walk into the quiet garden and away from the chaos outside. The superior double room was really large and had a heritage charm to it, with period features as well. The bathroom was clean with lots of hot water. There is a rooftop restaurant and chill out area. The menu had a variety of choices to meet most tastes. It is located quite a way from the main attractions, roughly 40 minutes by car. The hosts and staff were helpful and friendly. All in all, considering their price point, this is value for money accommodation.

Room Tip: Some rooms have balcony access.

Having travelled from Southern India to Jaipur we have stayed in many places. Although Jaipur itself is nothing special, Khrishna Palace made up for it. Wonderful, family run property, we were welcomed warmly from the moment we walked in. The hotel has been in the family for generations and has real warmth and character. A haven amongst another of India's hectic cities, we were able to relax both in our room and on the roof terrace which also hosts a restaurant serving delicious food. A great few days.

First of all this place is not a luxury hotel and hence a definite avoid for people expecting a royal treatment. Secondly the ambiance of the place is like an old home, not at all worthy of a hotel. The exterior with the entrance may get your hopes high but that is it. The rooms, though large and spacious, are really tasteless with décor reminding you of a below average house. The only thing that works for this hotel is its distance from the railway station (very close to it) and the variety it offers in terms of cuisines. Also it is located far from the main city and the noisy streets so it is really peaceful. The restaurant is on the rooftop, probably an attempt to impress and provide with some view, but it is a big miss. This place is not fit for families or for long stays. It is best suited for backpacker’s (like me) or lone traveler’s because the place is cheap. The food is satisfying and has a lot to offer so that cover’s it. Not really worth a visit as offers nothing exciting or special.

We stayed for three nights in a very spacious non AC room. Usually we stayed at very cheap budget hotels, but Krishna Palace was definitely worth the extra money.
The owners and their sons are great, they are like a tourist information center and can also help you with all bookings you might need. They tell you all the prices and give you good shopping advice (which is definitely needed for India novices).
We appreciated all the smiles and the great and peaceful atmosphere in the hotel.
The restaurant staff has poor knowledge in English, but communication still worked. The food was great and reasonably priced. The Kashmiri dum aloo was one of the best dishes we have had in 4 weeks in India, but everything else was also great.
The only con might be the location as it is a bit far out, but a rikshaw ride to the city palace for 60-100 Rs (depending on your bargaining skill and determination) isn't that bad.
If we every come back to Jaipur, this will be the place we stay.

we stayed for 3 nights in Krishna palace and were pleased with our choice!
We had a spacious ensuite double room with AC, when we checked in the room was very clean, however our room wasn't cleaned during the stay but we didn't mind, and to be honest didn't expect it for the price we paid.

we loved the atmospheric rooftop restaurant and enjoyed dinner there most nights (go for the deluxe Thali - it is DELICIOUS!). Service in the restaurant was sometimes a little hit-and-miss with a few small hiccups but in a lovable fawlty-towers fashion!! and maybe some of that was down to our miscommunication.

The owners are very hard working and kind people that were very helpful when we needed advice, they assisted us with booking trains and planning our onward journey. we really felt this place was good value and we would definitely stay again.

After the horrifying traffic on the delhi jaipur highway and after an excruciating trip on the auto rickshaw in which he tried to swindle us into some hotel just for his cut i found krishna palace on tripadvisor on my smartphone on the move. Believe me it was a relief we were very much in need of. The staff was awesome, the service was satisfactory too. The best thing i liked about the place was the owner's honesty. I definitely recommend this place !!!
