Hotel Shikha is located in a reasonably quiet part of Jaipur. It is not too far from the railway station and it is fairly close to MI road which is the main road in Jaipur. While this hotel does not fall into the same league as a Ginger or an ibis, it is a fairly good place to stay. There is a deer park opposite the hotel and a large number of deer are visible to the eye from the hotel. The price I paid seemed quite reasonable for a stay in the pink city, however I was visiting during the off season time. The hotel staff seemed quite friendly and helpful too. Cleanliness and service were fairly good. Although this is not a luxury hotel, given that the location, cleanliness, service and price are reasonably good, this hotel is a good place to stay.

It is located in the goverment office area of Jaipur and close to Birla Auditorium which is where my conference was. Convenient location for business purpose. Becomes very quiet at night as hardly any residential apartments around. There is a new club opened downstairs which has loud music on the weekends. But my room on first floor luckily was not so noisy. I was in the super deluxe category room but still it had the feel of a basic room. Don't expect anything fancy ! If you are very particular about details then the areas near the door and below the AC unit was peeling slightly and needed to be re painted.Bathrooms needed more space to keep towels and napkins. Bathrooms were clean but needed more lighting. There is no full length mirror in the room or in the bathroom .Only a mirror above the wash basin . No curtain to separate the dry and wet areas. Dining area is also very simple reminds of the old style college canteen. Breakfast includes eggs in different forms every day. Bread butter , jam , tea , coffee were constant. Other variations were upma, poha, bread pakoda, idli sambar etc. Dinner was a - la- carte and pre dominantly Indian. It had a home style feel to it. There is a cafe coffee day at the ground level of the hotel which also was an option for sandwiches .The reception staff was extremely courteous and helpful. They went out of their way to arrange for a cab to the airport and kept a back up ready in case the cab didnt turn up. Safe and reliable staff. All in all good experience if you keep realistic expectations. Check in here if you are on budget trips or for Business. If you are on a honey moon you may want to look at something more lavish

Room Tip: Rooms facing the deer park have a good view with minimal noise from the club on weekends.

Travelling in Jaipur during winter is awesome. Our 3 nights stay at Hotel Shikha a week ago made it a more convenient and pleasant stay for us the 3 ladies. It’s really value for money and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. When we arrived the front office staff was very polite and accommodating. Very clean room, nice white bed sheets, a working heater and free wifi. Breakfast was basic but more than adequate. The staff responded promptly to all assistance. Not only limited to transport arrangement in Jaipur, Agra and Delhi, the manager also went extra miles in helping us with the itineraries to ensure we are making the most of our visit and also secured us hotel bookings in Delhi. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely hotel. Highly recommend it to all my friends and others who travel with family.

Visit this place during rains all the deer in the adjacent deer park protect themselves under tree from rain few meters away from the hotel. An experience to cherish. Very easy to commute in the city. Decent room though not overwhelmingly great. Ok Service.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the deer park. Will never regret it.
