We had wanted to visit Penne for years. When we got there, we saw a brand new Mangii opposite, but went into Penne anyway. First impression - very quiet, dimly lit, soft music. Outdoor was unoccupied but a solitary couple made the most of it. Some odd broken furniture was dumped towards the wall - this was the view from the tables.
We ordered very little, given the fact that we had drinks earlier, and thankfully too, given the pricing.
Music was good, otherwise while peaceful, the restaurant is not 'alive'. Service was excellent, and delivery fast. The food tasted average, and the quantities felt small. The place overall feels exclusive.
We went into Mangii afterwards to check it out. Brand new place, much more lively though younger and not as private.
Given the overall choice, I would choose Mangii. They even have a 14 seater table and outdoor can be converted to a party area, although this is a review for Penne!
