“This is Bombay's answer to having our very own British kind tea restaurant.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 24, 2013

This is Bombay's answer to having our very own British kind tea restaurant. The ambience being very English and a bell on the table kept to call the waiters (find that very condescending) however, is the USP of this place. Mostly popular as a breakfast joint with the variety of pancakes, egg options and toasts that they have on offer they have an exceptional array of teas. Do try them and the delicious add ons they are served with. Must try place!

“For a peaceful evening with a variety of teas”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 2, 2013

I have been to this restaurant a number of times in the last 5 years. Loved it initially but the quality of service has taken a nose dive in the last two years. Definitely worth going for their variety of teas or for an English breakfast....

Good Things: The ambiance is excellent and not matched by many in this prize category. Only a few meters away from the Churchgate station. Restaurant is spacious and is one of the few where you can go alone and enjoy a comfortable evening. They have tables for two which you can use and you may sit here enjoying your food and a book or so as long as you like. Their collection of teas are just awesome. My favorite is the hot buttered apple tea. The food is tasty and has variety. A few items I liked are rajasthani bhindi, chicken koliwada and pepper prawns. I eat mostly veg and can't say much about the other items in the menu.

Bad things: Lately their service has become very poor. The served quantity has gone down steeply. If you order any starter, it will be just enough for two. Also the last few times we went, they took a long time to serve and there was too much time gap between different items (30 mins between two starters!..). Also Never go here in a group of more than 6 as the tables are round in shape and can't be joined in any useful way for a large group.

“Look no further if you want a good cup of tea”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 16, 2013

A hidden jewel and wonder why is it not the talk of the town! The best tea (both in terms of brewing and variety) accomplished by some truly English snacks.

A relaxed sitting, very approachable location and excellent service at highly reasonable prices.

As there is little pressure to leave (like most of commercial restaurants), they let you sit for a long time. This leads to a problem of finding space especially in the evenings.

Go there for tea, snacks and ambience at laughably low prices.

“The place for tea and snacks”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2013

Amazing selection of teas and the cheese toast complements it very well. Conveniently located close to Churchgate station thereby allowing a nice walk on Marine drive post the amazing tea experience. The place has character which makes it a nice experience. Quiet conversations give the place it's aura.

“Culinary Landmark in Mumbai”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2013

Besides their variety of good food, it’s their service and ambiance that wins you over. As you enter this place, you’re greeted with a sophisticated old-world charm. Spaciously spread out circular tables covered with white table cloth such that conversations held on each table get their own privacy. The atmosphere is quiet with soft lights and instrumental tracks of classic English songs playing faintly in the background (you have to stop talking and listen to the music to decipher which song is being played). Placed on each table is a little bell you can ring (like the ones used during puja) when you want to summon the staff at your service. Perhaps, the best part about the place is that it has a very relaxed atmosphere, unlike any other bustling restaurant. The staff doesn’t pester you or hover around the tables for you to place your order, in order to prevent disturbing you during your conversations.
