“Superb taste”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 15, 2012

Superb taste and nice preparation. I loved Ghee-dipped Roti, papad churma and chaas there. If you are calorie cautious then it is difficult to decide for food there as most of the preparations would be made with ghee or bit oily. Only tough task is to reach there as it is in very crowded area.

“Superb!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 14, 2012

Bhagat Tarachand is a truely iconic restaurant for pure vegetarians. The taste of the food is awesome and the Mumbai Branch near Zaveri Bazaar, the original BT is real real value for money. I someone is a veggie foodie, this is the place to go. It serves authentic sindhi style food. The masala Chhaas (buttermilk) in beer bottle as a starter is a hit with regulars. Do not forget the Rabri at the end. Mind blowing. The BT in Navi Mumbai appeared to be costlier though

“Good Veg food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 20, 2012

The place has been famous for good food and known for "chaas"/buttermilk. We have tried most of the items and the food is good. Ambience is average. Suggest to try papad churi, chaas and moong dal halwa.

“amazing food you wont find anywhere else”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 17, 2012

been to shvatra @ r-city mall...its a branch / venture of the same group. i have been to shvatra so many times and everytime i have had an immensely satsifying meal.

service is excellent and prompt, all the staff, the captains and the waiters are well trained, well informed. everything is served piping hot.

do try the papad churri, baingan bharta (must try), paneer lasooni methi, phulka rotis, tadka dal, dal khichdi and the chaas which they serve by the bottles.

they have the option to extra fry ( at an extra charge of rs.25-30 per dish) the baingan bharta and the tadka dal and you should definitely ask for it. makes it all the more better.

because phulka rotis / chapatis are made daily is most indian homes, we tend to order naan or paratha when eating out, but here you should try the phulka rotis, they are the softest and best you can get. you get a choice of ghee or butter phulka, i suggest the ghee variety.

papad churri is a sindhi speciality and not found in most restaurants. most people might not have tasted it. shvatra serves it and serves it very well. do not miss.

shvatra even serves good chinese food but i would suggest it for the special indian food that they serve.

weekends can get very busy and waiting time can be over an hour. do book your table in advance.

a decent full meal for two will cost you INR 600-800
