This busy establishment offers a wide variety menu and has quite a seventies vibe to it. The jukebox is very popular at Rs50 per three songs. Its hard to find a table but worth the wait. Be aware that prices are high.

Cafe Mondegar is very popular so it's great if you're looking for a loud, incredibly packed place to drink a beer in the afternoon. If you're thinking of getting something to eat and chill, this is not the place. There are so many table in there that you can barely move without knocking someone's pint with your elbow. Great decorations though!

This place was so disappointing! I had heard it was a 'happening' place with great music, an attractive crowd, good service and a varied yet reliable menu...
It is, in reality, the least comfortable restaurant I visited in the city, with tables so close together, you literally couldn't move. Fire hazard or what!
The music was your bog-standard BBC Radio 2 stuff - harmless, if a little loud. Not exactly a flavour of India.
The service was indifferent in the extreme. It seemed to be understood that, if you weren't happy, it didn't matter: you would be leaving town and another mug punter would be along in a minute.
As for the food... We ordered 4 different meals, but we all got the same - slop covered in ketchup and served lukewarm. Didn't get offered dessert, but we wouldn't have wanted it anyway. Would love to give more detail on the food but I can't even remember what we ordered!
Won't be going back.

Cafe Mondegar is a nice place to stop for a drink, but I wouldn't come here for a meal. Our chicken burgers were mediocre at best. And while the place is lively and casual, it is very touristy (though perhaps less-so than Leopold's down the road.) Didn't appreciate the waiter hovering over us for a tip either.

The place is so jam packed inside that the tables almost touch each other! Other than that, the music they play is just about the right volume. Pity that they don't serve hard liquor, but the walls offer a creative wave to the whole place. It is funny, and so very Indian. The menu they have is good, and whatever we had ordered was tasty. A definite place in Mumbai, which slightly resembles British modern pubs. You heard me, slightly.
