I have eaten at Swati's in 1989 onwards. While the quality has been good and consistent, currently the items are totally overpriced and ridiculous !! An idli plate costs Rs 100 plus !! A Similarly a dosa !!
What started as a genuine value for money has been transformed into a " foreign tourist oriented" pricing.

You can get more genuine snack items at Matunga at one third the price and better taste. Sure it does serve very authentic gujarathi snacks but the prices are already ridiculous !!!

My prediction is that, the eatery will lose out very soon to other more "value for money" place, especially among Indian locals !!

I guess that the possible diamond-industry background has probably influenced the international "diamond solitaire" pricing strategy...I hope not .

Excellent quality in every department from the food, the service, the cleanliness of the restaurant and the toilet as well, which was, in my opinion, the most hygienic I have come across in India. The variety of dishes was excellent. My vote for the restaurant in India with the tastiest and most hygienic food. Go early or you may have to wait outside because it is so good and so popular.

Enjoyed lunch here as part of a tour through mumbai magic.
This is a very popular cafe with locals and tourists alike and, by the time we were leaving, there was a growing queue to get in!
Inside, the place is spotless with lots of stainless steel, efficient staff and an open kitchen.
We were fortunate that our guide was there to help us order as we didn't know what most things on the menu were and there is no explanation...we ended up with a selection of 'streetfood type' local snacks, all of which were different but equally as delicious.
