The ambience and service of this place will take your breath away and so will the prices. We took the Degustation Menu (tasting menu) for our anniversary. It is a nine course meal with surprises galore. The presentation of each dish is a work of art. The tastes are unique like ones we had never tasted before. Have been to this place twice before and have always returned satisfied. The cost 9000 per head including tips. Our special compliments to the staff.

Everything that can be said about this place is probably written in some review or the other, so I shall make this simple. It is the finest french cuisine you can get in India, in an extra-ordinary setting, with a ridiculous price tag!! Nothing prepares you for the splendour of the service, the perfection of the cooking or the grandness of the whole thing. ( We were the only people in the place for a good part of our meal on a sunday night) . There is the private pianist..the impossibly fluffy Camembert souffle..The gorgeous ( but tiny portion..wish there were more) scallops.the flowing ( Sula) sparkling wine.( which was complimentary), the superbly done veal..and the outstanding Cod. The complimentary cake that they gave us is probably better than the best mousse cakes you get at any A category patisserie and the service is very personal without being Intrusive. If you love the feeling of being in the best place in town as much as having the best ( french) food in town..Go. Afterall..You only live once.

The place is busy and the staff are running around like headless chicken as it seems they are understaffed, therefore the service was pathetic + the food was just average.

We went to The Zodiac Grill for our anniversary and came back superbly impressed. A bottle of complimentary champagne sets the tone for the meal followed by different menu cards being given to the lady and the gentleman...Surprise - the one for the lady does not have the price written on it :)))...and thus the journey begins!!! Their signature dish - Camembert souffle is divine. For mains we had the ravioli and the black cod - both excellent. The best is obviously saved for the last - the Kahlua Mousse is out of this world...i have never had anything even close to it. Its brilliant - and the presentation is so good that you feel bad that you are going to eat it!! But what truly sets this place apart is the staff and the attentive service, even in comparison to restaurants in the same hotel. The decor of the place is extremely simple with an old-world charm to it - nothing overtly fancy. All in all the place exudes romance, charm and elegance. Fortunately we had the restaurant to ourselves for lunch, and with fantastic food and service its easy to close your eyes and imagine yourselves on a romantic meal on the Seine :))) Quite simply put its the romance of Paris captured in a meal! Fortunately I saw the bill only at the end (thanks to my menu card not having the price) and its probably the most expensive meal i would have had BUT a meal at The Zodiac Grill is not just a meal - its an experience!!! An experience you will hold in your heart for a long long time!!!

We spent three days in Mumbai at the Taj and visited three restaurants in the Hotel. The Zodiac being the last one. The free Indian "champagne" was a nice early touch. The menu is french with the appetizers at about £20 or $30 while the entrees at around £35. The execution of the food was poor. The scallops were under seasoned and some of the taste combinations questionable. My main course - Vension was minscule, overcooked while the vegetable Accompaniment basic and somewhat lack lustre. Feeling still hungry we looked at the desert menu but declined as they were priced at £20 and based on the previous two courses were were not certain that this would be a good investment. The service was good. I cannot see how this restaurant can justify the price compared to the quality of the execution.
