It is not a modern restaurant for the youth. It is place where families come and have their wine and food. The food we ordered was really good. We ordered Indian dishes, though there were many other cuisines. The service was just okay. There were Captains and waiters, and a lot of staff, but there were none to attend to us with a kind smile. The experience was good, and definitely a good place near Nariman Point. One among the very few old Bombay restaurants !!

no longer as great as it used to be. overpriced for the kind of food they serve. with so many other places coming up they need to buck up.

It would be wrong to put our stomach problems down to a deliberate act by the restaurant but we can blame them for their attitude. It's often said that you should choose a restaurant where all the locals eat. Well, we were the only Westeners in Gaylord this evening and we discovered a probable explanation in the attitude towards us of the head waiter. Putting two tables together so our party could be seated started it - how unreasonable of us! As the meal progressed he found more excuses to be huffy and resentful. The rest of the staff were OK - actually more than OK - but our guy was a nightmare. It culminated in being harangued for not giving a tip.

From our party of ten, 5 suffered bad stomach problems that night and next morning.

Which leaves the food - adequate at best. Not the worst meal in our three week stay in India but for from matching the good ones.

From our experience, best to avoid this one.

I Visiten this retaurant on two occations. The Food is good with a Big choice.
The Environment is very pleasant but for my Taste a Bit to loud, but that is most of the nice Restaurants in Mumbai.

When in Mumbai I always try to have lunch at Gaylord, partially for the area, partially for their ambience and service and partially for the food. I have been many times and always like to invite locals there, mainly customers who have always heard of it. For me the feel of a place is important: the service is always very good and makes it feel like the service standards that may have been many years ago. They still seem to have so many waiting staff with captains as well. The food is always very good and there is a great choice for locals and for foreigners like me. They are accommodating with slight changes in the food as well with you want slight changes.

I always look forward to my visit(s) to Gaylord and are never dissapointed. My only concern is the small size of the men's Bathroom upstairs: as a tallish person, it is a struggle
