A great palce to know Mumbai's Social, cultural and geographical history... also, a part of this Museum is home for some good Contemporary Art shows.

This museum not very big....but still worth visiting whose collection justify the place.

The renovation of the whole building is great and on can feel the lavishness and detailed work interior used to have in past few centuries.

Lot of stuff for children to understand society in India. Formulation of villages, town and cities...

This is Mumbai's municipal museum; its exhibits focus mainly on the city's geography, history and culture. The nice thing is that it is not so big that it's overwhelming; you can see it all in about 90 to 120 minutes. There are numerous examples of traditional handcrafted works that demonstrate the rich culture of Mumbai and Maharashtra. But just as interesting (if not more so) is the architecture and design of the museum building. The ceilings, columns and floors hold fascinating detail. The gardens outside are home to several statues from British colonial times that are worth checking out. The original elephant statue from Elephanta Island is also right outside the museum.

It's a great place to see with a lot to offer, but unfortunately, is under staffed. You dont have guided tours, so at times you find yourself lost.

Its Small yes! but its gorgeously restored and maintained a piece of Mumbai history one should not miss. A good place to ancient Indian artifacts in old world mansion-esque charm. Don't Miss.
