Four Seasons Hotel Mumbai
Ranked #11 of 453 Hotels in Mumbai (Bombay)
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed November 6, 2011

I have been traveling in India for several weeks and it coincides with my birthday. Somehow the hotel found out that I was turning 39 and surprised me with a cake and flowers and spa gift certificate. I was overwhelmed by the generosity. Besides that though, there is not one bit of the experience at this hotel that wasn't thoughtful and thorough. Sometimes I find in India the service can be daunting with you being asked repeatedly how you are and if you are satisfied. I was pleasantly surprised at the Four Seasons in Mumbai that while you are treated in this manner, it is not overdone. The best part was the concierge who helped me map out my days off and requests for tennis, trips to ice cream stores, book stores, etc. The entire concierge team was genuinely interested in helping. The rooms were clean, the bed comfortable, the pool clean and completely empty in the morning allowing for nice swims. The food was perfect whether I ate in my room or in the restaurant. 100 percent more than satisfied with this hotel. Thank you Four Seasons Mumbai for caring so much about my Mumbai experience.

I am frequent business traveller choosing different hotel every time for a different experience. I chose to stay in Four Season for 2 days due to its reputation worldwide. But the experience wasnt that satisfactory based on other hotels i have stayed in nearby areas or other hotels in India. It was costly (relative) to other 5 star and the facilities didnt deserve that. I paid around 12000 per day and based on my earlier experiences wont be using it again.

Room service was fine but the basic amenities even like dental kit have to be ordered. I think they should have atleast included complementary airport transfer.

Food wasnt too good as per the price. Hence, i wont like to recommend it.

very good hotel

+'s
- nice rooms
- spa (very plush - I used this just before setting off for airport - felt much fresher for it)
- San Qi restaurant (astonishingly good/fresh food, but not cheap)
- AER roof top bar
- decent gym
- friendly and helpful staff
- DVD player in room (hotel has stock of DVD's)

-'s
- Italian cafe lacked any form of atmosphere
- hotel taxis are expensive (ask for a black/yellow cab instead - 1/10th of the price)

Hotel is based in Worli (30 mins from airport) overlooks a shanty town, but that's Mumbai for you.

The problem with Mumbai is that there is no single area consistently clean. There are all pockets spread around the city. This hotel is actually adjacent to a vast slum area. Apart from that the experience of staying there was spotless. The hotel itself is well designed to international standards. Lovely roof top restaurant and elegant rooms (but quite small for the price you pay). If it was located in a friendlier, cleaner part of town, this hotel would have been the perfect destination.

Awesomeness of this restaurant is that there are no other roof top restaurant in mumbai this high(33rd floor)....to get a bird eye view of the city.
Drinks - Try the cocktails & the chilled beer with the evening sunset.
Food - The food is not great...as it gets cold by the time it gets to your table.
Service - The is gr8.
Ambience - Good Music
The place can be enjoyed with friends as well as loved ones.

Lovely hotel. Beautiful rooms, well constructed. Excellent small touches - housekeeping put a mouse pad under my mouse, put a velcro strip on my bb charger cord, folded clothes neatly. Gym is a good size and well maintained. Food at coffee shop very good - had lunch, breakfast and afternoon tea there. I have stayed at many, many properties and this one is worth talking about!

We stayed with our pets in the Ocean View Suite which was impeccable. We were celebrating my husband's birthday. In the entire stay the only let down was the cake. Infact although we said we were coming in to celebrate the birthday there was hardly anything done to make it special for him. They sent a tiny 500gm cake and insisted on giving the chocolate cake which we donot like. For pets there isnt any area to roam around. However the limousine service is great and that took us to seaside for a walk. Food and service were the best part. Although I requested for a firm mattress they didnot have the right one so I had to sleep on carpet for both nights. Other than that it was the perfect stay.
