Selecting a hotel in Mumbai was a challenge in itself, because we had to readjust the mindset and prepare to spend about three times more than our usual expenditure, because Mumbai - like any other world class international city - is expensive. Accommodations could have been found for less, but we were not willing to sacrifice the comfort and security of a good budget hotel, and we wanted, above all, a hotel located in Calaba, walking distance to The Gates of India and all of the tourist attractions.

The Sea Palace Hotel was the perfect choice, with rooms to accommodate a range of budgets, a very friendly and accommodating management and staff, and an excellent location right on the waterfront, only metres away from the iconic Taj Mahal Hotel and The Gates of India. In addition to the prime location, the hotel's rooftop terrace restaurant was a huge bonus, with excellent food, great music, and a stellar view overlooking the bay.

For all that it offers, could possibly be the best deal in town. Think about it: a budget hotel with prime waterfront in the heart of Mumbai. We would definitely stay at The Sea Palace in future. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: We enjoyed the modern feel of the bright, lime green feature wall and the light wood furnishings in...

Awesome location and no second thought that i chose such a place for the location. Unfortunately, the service is not upto the mark. Extremely clean rooms! Great ambience! Great breakfast! One thing that really put the hotel down is the rude behaviour of the staff. We waited at the reception that was so crowded. Seemed like a fish market! Wish it was well structured!
Lots of chaos!!!

Room Tip: Don't expect great behavior from the staff. They neither follow what you are saying nor they mak...

Super restaurant, great food, lovely view of the Bay of Bombay. Really a romantic place to spend an evening. Lovely music. And again, fantastic food dished out by the hotel owner Viju Chhabria who is also a golfer !

Jan 18 to Jan 22, 2013 in Standard AC Single Room. The location of the hotel is very good. It is only a few hundred metres from the Gate of India. The room was okay, but the bathroom was full of mildew, so that the paint was constantly coming off the walls. Not a very hygienic sight. The food was okay and the service was very friendly. Unfortunately this hotel is also a popular place for wedding receptions, so there was constant music and banging of dishes and pots right under my window until 3 a.m. in the morning. So if you value a good night’s sleep, you would be better off selecting a different hotel.

A budget hotel that is a stone's throw away from the Gateway of India. Excellent location. It has a nice outside seating where you can sit and have your drinks in the evenings....But don't expect much more than this. Breakfast is meagre, rooms are small, no wi-fi, can't make calls outside of Mumbai......

Room Tip: Choose sea facing rooms

We didn't stay at Sea Palace so I can't comment on the rooms. However,
we spent a lot of time there. The reason? Mumbai has a fair few bars
and restaurants which sell alcohol ( and a lot that don't). What it
lacks is many bars and restaurants where you can drink and eat
outdoors. Sea Palace has a nice terrace where ( from some tables) you
can see the sea. The beer is a reasonable price, the menu is varied
and the food is good. Just 5 minutes walk from the Taj hotel too so if
you're staying there, sneak out and eat and drink with a view at half
the price!

This hotel is awesome, the staff is awesome. They upgraded me for no charge. The rooms are very nice and clean. For breakfast which is included, they have an Indian and Western breakfast, lots of food and it is tasty. I was so impressed by this hotel, I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone, you will not be disappointed. The location was perfect, perfect, perfect. If want to stay in this area, choose this hotel you will not be disappointed. I have enjoyed to the max ! I find it hard to believe that anyone would say anything negative about this hotel. Truly Awesome !!!
