Hotel Midtown Pritam
Ranked #216 of 456 Hotels in Mumbai (Bombay)
Reviewed June 2, 2009

The hotel offers decent size rooms (in a city like Bombay where space is premium) and average service.

The hotel is conveniently located next to Dadar Station - so literally you can travel to any part of Bombay from here.

The bathrooms are very small and I wish the hotel management had built slightly bigger bathrooms.

Staff are not friendly at all, including the security who bark at you...but a nice place to stay in the heart of the city.

Considering that deluxe hotels are offering big discounts at this time, this supposedly 4 star hotel was extremely reluctant to offer any discounts on the grounds that the occupancy was very high and giving an impression that they do not care much for discount seekers!
Paid INR 5,000 per night (approx USD 109) for a 2 night stay with complimentary buffet breakfast (average quality). No other freebies - not even complimentary mineral water (which is a standard fare in most decent hotels in India).
Had a deluxe room on 5th floor which was average size but was a bit smelly from stale cigarette and probably alcohol used by some earlier guests. However the corridors need urgent ventilation as musty with stale cigarette smell. Noisy air-conditioning, average bathroom (a bit of mould on one of the walls), linen appeared to be fresh and well laundered (this was the saving grace!), provided with a stocked mini-bar. Staff was cordial and helpful but the reception staff needs more grooming as could be curt. Centrally located with easy access to local trains, cabs and buses and shopping area. Did not use any of their restaurants and/or services.
