“very dissapointing”
Reviewed December 6, 2012

Due to non availability of accomodation in downtown Mumbai between 23 & 27 November 2012, we were recommended this place by a Bandra resident. So we booked a Platinum room to accomodate 3 of us at I.R 9159/- per night (inc of Breakfast). However, upon arrival well after midnight on 23/11/12, the night reception was not informed by the daytime staff of our late arrival. So we had to wait for a while. When we were shown to our room, the room was dusty and VERY MUSKY SMELLING. The bathroom linen was of very poor quality, the bed sheets did not feel freshly cleaned and we didn't quite understand as why a huge bath tub was fitted in such a small bathroom. There was continuous traffic noise heard right through the night till morning.

The next morning, breakfast served on PLASTIC canteen plates was not much of a variety. The Breakfast Room looked SO GLOOMY and dark. I feel it was more of a tacky Bar filling in as Breakfast Room in the morning.

So at breakfast time my son called a hotel in Fort area, at which we had stayed two years back hoping that they will have a triple room for us. So they confirmed and they gave us the same room in which we stayed previously.

So we immediately checked out from this place and went to the Fort hotel. I must say a very bad experience.

We were visiting Bandra with a focus on nightlife and shopping, for which the Hotel Metro Palace was a great choice in terms of location. The hotel offers free airport transfers in a very comfortable car, and were very punctual and friendly collecting us from the airport. The staff in the hotel were consistently friendly and went out of their way to be helpful (going to buy us phone credit in monsoon rains).

The rooms offered all the basic comforts, and we found our room to be very clean. The breakfast in the bar is not the perfect atmosphere, but the food was fine, cooked freshly and served quickly, and for anyone who wants a different ambiente there are multiple alternatives nearby.

Paying $70 a night for a deluxe rooms at this hotel was disappointing.
The room's cleanliness was just okay. I didn't see any roaches!
There were naphthalene pills in every corner of the room to repel insects I guess. I had to have them removed and air out the room until I could breath easily.
Sheets are clean.
Toiletries were just enough for one day.
I saw a mouse running around on the floor in the restaurant.
Breakfast was the same everyday, with very limited items to choose from.
The cosmetics of the room and hotel were nothing special. Chairs in the room were not usable and were stained and dirty.
The location was Okay in Bandra West among shopping areas, and relatively close to the ocean front, although the hotel itself is not that conspicuous.
I liked the free pick up and drop off at the airport. Ask for it!
Hotels in Mumbai are generally VERY overpriced for the service or what you get compared to what you expect in America or Europe.

Room Tip: Book your room ahead of time, and go for the highest priced room to avoid a cramped and low quality...

I stayed in this hotel for one night in March 2012 based on the recommendation of a friend. Location is excellent, clean room, good restaurant and very friendly and corteous staff. Surprised to be addressed by my name when I went to the restaurant for lunch.

The cost includes breakfast and airport drop.

Only disappointment is having breakfast in a not so bright room - which in fact is their bar in the evenings!

The location of the hotel is just fab! It's located on the main road of the shopping area in Bandra. Awesome food joints are at a walking distance from the hotel. Everything you need is close by even the station.
The room was sufficient enough, the hotel food was ok. The breakfast room is a bit small and stuffy but the service is excellent. It is safe and comfy. A great choice for a short stay in Mumbai as it is sort of centrally located.

I stayed here with my family from 02-November for 04 Nights. The main purpose of travel was shopping in Mumbai. This hotel is located in Bandra, opp. to Globus mall. Street shopping in the evening for ladies is available opp. this hotel and fashion street at Linking Road is just 5 minutes by auto rickshaw. The Malls in Parel as well as at Malad are at a drive of around 30 minutes (presume no traffic on way). There is ample choice of restaurants around this hotel and one should try Lucky. Train station is just 5 minutes from the hotel and domestic airport is around 20 minutes drive. Rooms are average and breakfast is very basic. A famous pub is also located on ground floor for unwinding after a tiring day.

Room Tip: I believe room in Platinum category is good
