friends suggested this place to us. as we found out it is quite famous as it is mentioned in gregory david roberts book shantaram. we paid some 500 rupees per night and bed which was a decent price for the quality offered. showers and bathrooms are western standard and very clean, though shared and not in the rooms. also the rooms were simple but clean with fan, wardrobe and tv plus a nice view onto the shore. a/c wud have been great though as mumbai heat was almost unbearable. i can really recommend this place. but be aware that u will have to walk up to 4th floor every time. :-)

We stayed in Sea Shore two nights, there is another hotel below it that is cheaper but not as comfortable. It is very modern and the decor is new and clean. There are shared bathrooms but again they are very clean and modern. The hotel is central and has beautiful views over the port. It is located in the tourist side of Mumbai, Colaba. They have room service with a small menu of breakfast foods and a tv in every room. This hotel is quite pricey for what it is, every room is quite small but it is a comfortable stay for a fleeting visit. They have wifi which is free to use. I would recommend as a short stay.

Room Tip: The odd numbers were facing the road and port so they are quite noisy it seems the even numbered roo...

The location is great. Location is near the Indian Gateway, and the area is very safe and well connected to everything you must see in Mumbai.
Clean and basic rooms, SeaShore Hotel is a perfect place for backpackers with low budget that want to spend time visiting the city and that use the hotel only for a nice rest

When I went to Seashore in January I was pleasantly surprized. My room was very clean, simply but very well designed, and the bathroom was very functional, clean and spacious. I had a great view of the habour. For me this hotel was much better than others I have stayed in in India. I haven´t stayed in any other in Mumbai so cannot compare it with other hotels there.
All I can say is that I was very satisfied.
The only negative thing was the noise of the air-con machines on the roof of the hotel in front!!!

Stayed for 3 nights. When we checked in, they only had the cheaper rooms for 940. The room was clean, but very small, and had no windows. It got so hot during the night even with the fan at full blast that we hardly slept. Not surprising as there was absolutely no ventilation. We decided to leave the next morning if we couldn't get a room with a window. We did, and it was only 50 rupee difference. Which begs the question: are the windowless rooms terrible value, or the window rooms good value?
In any case, the staff was friendly, the place fairly clean, and the location excellent. Laundry is 20 per item.
In short, take only the window rooms and you'll be fine.

I stayed here with friends for a weekend in Mumbai, it was seriously one of the better choices standard wise and price wise for Mumbai , we payed 1200 per night for a triple.

Rooms are surprisingly large and spacious, with clean , comfortable bedding and a satellite TV that worked very well.

Rooms do not have attached bathrooms, but the shared bathrooms are top quality, very clean and modern .

Room service here was a treat , soooooooo cheap , I would seriously reccomend the toasted sandwiches , only 25 rps each and an awesome snack .

WiFi is free and worked well , all in all a nice place to stay and within Mumbai tariffs this is as close to a good budget option you will find , also it is in a fantastic location, close to markets, shops, restaurants, cafe's and bottle shops , and 5 mins walk to the gateway of India . it is about 10 mins away from the main train station and you can take a nice 30 min stroll to the beach

I stayed at the Seashore Hotel in March 2013 and found it a great cheap-ish option in Mumbai. Although you share bathrooms they are very clean, as are the rooms. The location is really good. The staff is also nice, and really helpful. They advised me on taxi fares around Mumbai, where to go to see a Bollywood film and how to reach the beaches. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because it doesn't have a common space where guests can meet up or chat for a bit (although I do realize space is at a premium in this city). Also, I booked just 2 days before, so I had to stay in the rooms with no windows, with only a fan, which felt a bit cramped. I'm going back to Mumbai next year and I'll definitely book ahead so I can get a room with a window.

Room Tip: Choose a room with a window. It's worth it.
