Stayed here a couple of nights ago the place is a good guest house nice new facility's inside overall very good just one thing if you stay there get a room with a window as there is no AC just fan and the concrete windowless rooms are roasting hot I could only stay there one night couldn't sleep in the heat would have stayed longer if there were window rooms available. Paid 950Rs a night

I liked the seashore very much, and it was my first Hotel in India. It is well located, with the Gateway of India and the bustling touristy streets of Colaba in a short walks distance. You get sea view if you manage to get one of the rooms with windows (they can't guarantee you that when you reserve your room by phone), the rooms are clean, of a good size, with a comfy mattress, not too hard nor too soft. The bathrooms are sparkling new and clean as well, and the staff is friendly and helpful. For it's price, it's hard to find a better place in Mumbai, I'd say.

We booked this hotel as we had stayed here in 2009 for 550 rupees a night, since then its had a bit of a makeover and is now 990 rupees for a double room. Its very overpriced for what you get but then everywhere in Mumbai seems to be. We had booked a room over the phone and the manager said there would be a room available at 8am (since we were arriving very early in the morning). We arrived at 7.30 and the guys working there were pretty rude to us saying it was impossible the room be available till 12. We sat and waited and luckily a room did become free a couple of hours later - we'd asked for a double room with window. It had a big floor to ceiling window (with shutters, mosquito net but strangely no glass!) but it really was a stretch to call it a double room - it was a single room with a little cubby hole turned into a bed on the floor (with a crappy mattress). We were exhausted after a long train journey and a long wait for a room and just wanted to sleep otherwise I think we would have left and gone elsewhere. Overall the place is clean, bathrooms are good (though no hot water and the staff from the hotel and the hotel below also use the bathrooms which is annoying especially at peak times as there isn't really enough to go round), flat screen TVs etc but the staff are surly (though the manager is nice) and we had to ask numerous times for pillowcases, which they treated as though we were asking for something unreasonable. Staying here wasn't unpleasant but we wouldn't go back.

You get what you pay for - really basic but very clean, including the bathrooms which were new wet rooms. Staff we're really friendly and helped me in getting a bus to my next destination. Surprisingly quiet at night, although I guess that may have been luck that the other guests staying there at the same time as me were quiet. Great location right on the coast. Each cubicle style room had a ceiling fan which was great. Book in advance because I think it gets busy.

This is the first place we stayed when starting of our India travels. Most accommodation in Mumbai is double or triple the amount you will pay in most other areas of the country, making Seashore more than reasonable for the standard and service delivered. You might find cheaper but the I'm sure the standard would be alot lower. The room and beds were immaculate and shared bathroom area was cleaned repeatedly throughout the day, so we didn't really feel like we were sharing. The room we stayed in didn't have any windows, however the fan was enough to keep us cool, it was quiet and it meant we weren't tempted to spend to long indoors. I would recommend asking for a window when booking if you think you would prefer. Overall a great place for us to start our journey and a great introduction to the budget accommodation that India has to offer.

I have to say that the price of everything in Mumbai is about 3 times as much as anywhere else in India AT LEAST. So this place is a real relief.

The price is about the same as other hotels of this quality throughout India except that there are only shared bathrooms but this is not a problem when you see that the bathrooms are really quite new and you rarely have to wait long for a shower.
The hotel is on the 4th floor of a building so its a bit of a climb with your bags (unless you arrive early or late in which case there's a lovely security guard who carries them for you) but when you reach the top you'll see a nice hotel that's had a recent refurbishment.

We had a room with a window where you could see out across the harbour which was nice. The only trouble is you can here some crazy horn blowing some nights but thats India all over and not the hotel's fault.

The rooms have a TV which has plenty of english speaking film channels but the only downside is that some of the rooms arent entirely finished in that the walls need to be finished painting but no big deal.

In Mumbai for this price this is the best hotel.

The rooms are

Room Tip: Ask for a window room as some dont have windows

Sea shore Hotel is located in a inconspicuous house close to Taj Palace, India Gate and Colaba market. The hotel offers1, 2 or 3 bed rooms (with or w/o windows) with space according to the staying guests. We had a big non AC triple bed room with view over the sea.The room was clean, we had clean bed sheets (no towels and no blankets as usual). There are only shared bath rooms- but they have a new fancy design and the hotel staff cleans the facilities often.
For Mumbai it is very cheap (about 500Rp. p.p.) and the reception is friendly and offered us to stay in the triple bed room for the price of a double bed room after one of our friends left. Unfortunately, in Mumbai it is common to have a check out time, at Seashore it was 10 am.
The hotel offers breakfast, laundry service, money exchange. Book in advance!
If you are looking for delicious pastries, there is 'Theobroma' at the main street (turn right at the gas station)- here you'll get everything you can imagine. For friends of Indian food, try these local places: Madras Café (5 min from gas station) and Café Paris (10 min), for both places you need to turn left at the gas station.
