Don't miss the Dhobi Ghat while in Mumbai it trully is a sight to see. It has to be on your hit list of places to visit while in Mumbai as its an awesome sight even just to stand there for 10 minutes and embrace the atmosphere of the place.

It is worth a brief stop. We just looked at it from above but is was quite facinating to watch. It was also quite a humbling experience.

This is a must on any travel itinerary in Mumbai! You can go there by train from Church Gate station which is centrally located. Get off at Mahalaxmi. Then cross the bridge and you won’t miss the feast of colour and activity happening below. The only small annoyance is that the people who work there man every entrance and tell you when you enter that you can’t take photos unless you get a tour, which of course isn’t true, but they are quite stubborn and won’t let you through unless you pay them for a tour it seems. We were asked to pay 200 rupees per person, but you can definitely haggle with them. We paid 125 each in the end. You should definitely wear trainers when visiting, as otherwise your feet will get wet!

Great show of how industrial the population can be. But also how hard life can be to earn a living. This was my 2nd time here and I found this to be as interesting as the 1st. This is a must do in Mumbai.

We only peered at it from above, but it's an eye-opening experience for anyone used to washers and dryers, or handing your laundry to someone else and it magically comes back clean. It's important to understand the scope of the labour involved in cleaning clothing where electricity and water aren't a given for every household. It's worth a brief stop if you're traveling - we didn't go down into the area on a tour.
