“Trident Nariman Point: lovely stay”
Reviewed February 1, 2012

Our family of 4 stayed here for 2 nights recently. Staff are efficient and receptive to the guests needs. The hotel was very busy but service levels did not suffer.
The location of the hotel makes it really easy to see the sights of Mumbai.
Would love to return someday.

We stayed here for two nights in November had a sea facing room which was well worth paying the extra for. Great location, can't believe the hotel has had bad reviews. We received very good service, lovely comfortable room. I was most impressed that the customer service staff. The buffet at dinner was uninspiring and overpriced. Would definitley stay here again.

We stayed here for two nights in November had a sea facing room which was well worth paying the extra for. Great location, can't believe the hotel has had bad reviews. We received very good service, lovely comfortable room, we did not experience any external noise problems, red roses in the room replaced daily, lovely touch at the swimming pool given a pack with water, wet hand towels and sun screen. Very good choice at breakfast. The only down side for us was that the inside of the windows in our room were dirty (a real lack of attention to detail), however this was sorted. Toileteries were not replenished, hairdrier in awkward place, a more effective extractor is needed in bathroom to remove steam and not enough coat hangers. The buffet at dinner was uninspiring and overpriced. Would definatley stay here again.

We stayed in three Trident Hotels in our trip to India and this was the last stop before we flew home. Unfortunatly due to a disturbed night at one of the earlier hotels, we were promised a better room at the Nariman which we duly received along with a bottle of wine. I was most impressed that the customer service staff had done exactly what they said they were going to do.

This gesture aside i was most impressed with The Trident Nariman - firstly the location of the hotel literally across the road from the long promenade that leads to Chowpatty Beach. This was a great place to walk day or night (quite safe with little hawker hassle) on this smooth walkway without the usual Indian"pavement" craters or trip hazards. It was also a reasonable walk through tree lined shady streets to the "colonial" area .

The check in staff were speedy whilst we waited in the palatial lobby and our bags arrived within minutes - despite the fact this was the Mumbai Marathon weekend and the hotel was very busy.
The room on the 20th floor was wonderful with a view of the bay - which was even more spectacular when the high rise buildings in the distance were lit up at night. The room had all the usual amenities with a very clean bathroom and walk in shower.

The hotel had two restaurents -" India Jones" serving Far Eastern and Continental and "Frangipani" which had a very impressive looking Spanish Buffet whilst we were there and the best Indian a la carte food we had had during our entire trip. Service was a bit patchy at peak times but the restaurent was very busy. The breakfast had a great array of fresh good quality food- frequently replenished. The quality, presentation and rewasonable cost of all the food in this restaurent was excellent .

There was an outdoor pool with great views of the bay. Also a complete Spa and beauty salon offering a huge range of treatments - also the best hairwash, head massage and blow dry i have ever had anywhere in the world!

All in all this 4* hotel had far superior facilities and service level than the 5* hotel we had stayed in in Kerala and was the perfect end to our India holiday

Room Tip: As higher floor as possible and on the Bay side away from the lifts

How wonderful to return at night from traveling the unpleasant streets of Mumbai to a classy luxurious hotel. Service was good and polite, buffet lunch amazing, location great, room lovely to be in. I found the glass wall in the bathroom a little strange at first, but discovered it had a privacy shade you could lower. The large glass window also had a heavy shade operated from a switch by the bed, so you could lower it if you took a nap in the middle of the day. The whole room had an understated, classy, zen-like feeling. A welcome change from the chaos of the city.

The only positive point is probably the location. The staff is unattentive, slow and at times very rude. the rooms have paperthin walls and so you can enjoy all that happens in at least 10 rooms under, above and at the same floor. The rooms are audibly used for late night parties to which receptionists declare not being to do anything. My luggage arriving at 1 am was lost for 1.5 hour+ ("We are busy with many other guests; you must wiat your turn; it is forbidden for guests to look in luggage room to take their luggage".) Spilling coffee over you at breakfast seems a norm(al thing). No apologies but comment that I should have been sitting still (I was!!). Laundry ruined trousers ("machine was broken, sorry we cannot accept responsibility, but we will not charge you!!!).
