“Nice place to time pass”
Reviewed October 30, 2013

It is a nice place to hangout and do some time pass, but only for kids, adults might get bored. There is a dome theater, weight converter, information on walls etc. Bus frequency is OK. It is a onetime visit place recommended mainly on weekdays since weekends cannot be wasted!!!!!

HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of the best planitoriums I have visited in india. But remember to check for the timings before you go and also the language of the show. Lot of educational things to see and understand.good yor children.fun knowing your weight on the moon and other different planets. Please don't sleep in the planitoriums....you will miss a lot.

“Worth frequent visits!”
Reviewed September 30, 2013

A great place to visit with children, the Skyshow is as fascinating for the young as it is for adults. The exhibits are not world class, but enough to spark curiosity and discussions in the young minds. Check timings and language for the shows, and plan accordingly. Clubbed with the Science Centre [ on the other side of the Mahalaxmi Race Course ] it makes for a day well spent with kids.

“Glimpse of the Universe”
Reviewed September 27, 2013

Nehru Planetarium allows us city dwellers to catch a glimpse of the Universe. They have shows in English, Hindi and Marathi. They offer both on site and online booking of these shows. They are closed on Mondays. We visited on a Sunday and the show was almost full. Hence a word of advise, if you are visiting on a Sunday please book in advance. The show lasts for about an hour and a half. It starts at the lower level of the planetarium. Here one can look at the "working" model of our solar system. This is helpful for the primary kids to understand the solar system. The ground level hall also has models of the surface of the moon and Mars.
Another attraction is an area which enables the visitor to check their weight on various planets !!
The is a short AV and a quick information by the guide.
After this the guide requested all to move to the upper floor. The dome shaped theatre. On the way one can observe various models, pictures, related to astronomy.
The main show starts in the dome theatre and these shows change over time (information about the change is available on their Website).
On Sundays the planetarium staff put up a telescope after sun down for the benefit of people. This is free of cost and is operational from November to May.
The planetarium has a clean loo (try to visit before the main show starts) and a small canteen. Pay and Park facility is available outside.
The staff is helpful and knowledgeable.
