Owner description: One of several beautiful lakes in Bombay, this one is infested with crocodiles.

When I was a kid in 1970s, we used to regularly come for school picnics here. I still remember the sausage sanwiches with maynnaise which would be my fixed menu for the picnics. There is a huge park. haven't been there in a while so don't know much about the eating options in the park. There used to be a restaurant. But Hiranandani Gardens is closeby and that has a variety of eating options. Along the lake too now there is a seating area. And if you want an exclusive view of the lake without the crowd and the noise, have someone from IIT invite you to their campus.

Spend your evening by the side of the lake enjoying the road side snacks. This is a famous pass through joint for many people, who want to enjoy their evening in the congested city. This lake is also used for immersion of the idols during the famous Ganesh festival in Mumbai.

Well, first thing that amazed me about this lake was that, despite been located in such a crowded city, this lake is very clean and unpolluted. This lake is surrounded by various other intersting places, like Hira Nandani and IIT Bombay. The contrast on the two sides of the lake is easily visible, on one side you see the high rising buildings of Hira Nandani, and on the other side you can see the hills covered by impenetrable vegetation.
In a city like Mimbai, which is so much crowded, this lake provides you a moment of peace. And a walk through the IIT Bombay to the lake is very peaceful and soothing walk, you never realize that you are in a city with a population of more than 17 million.
