“One of the most efficient rail netwroks”
Reviewed October 1, 2013

More than a 100 yrs old Victorian structure!!

If you wish to truly experience how Mumbai works with clock work precision, just vist any local train platform, every 3-4 minutes a train come, typically 3-4000 persons travel in one train, at at VT or CST as now its called all the trains terminate. A sea of humanity leaves the terminus from morning @ 8:30 to 10:30 AM while going to work and reverse happens from @ 5:30 to 8 PM when they wind up and move towards their homes. Just to get in the train during the rush hour is an experience in itself.

Now on the structure, there are @ 7 platforms which cater to Mumbai suburban rail network. This is called central and harbour lines

Many long distance trains travelling to northern part of the country/eastern and southern parts also start and terminate here. There are @ 11 of these platforms

“Gothic architecture!”
Reviewed September 22, 2013

See this gem and appreciate its UNESCO status. A melange of Gothic elements. Trains, places to grab a bite or drink, and something to read.

“Old Victoria Station”
Reviewed September 20, 2013

Beautiful architecture- too bad it's not being maintained.
Thers was a tour that had a window of 3:30 - 6:00 PM with a small charge that I wish I could have taken. walk thru security is amusing - I doubt it really works.

“Architecture at it's best”
Reviewed September 18, 2013

No wonder it is listed as a Heritage site. Just stand back in awe and imagine the craftmen's patience and skills.
Shame it couldn't be scrubbed one in a while!
