Owner description: Mahatma Gandhi once lived in this simple, two-story building, which is now a museum, library and research center depicting Gandhi's life and struggles for Indian freedom through peaceful means.

This is the place that Ghandi spent during 1917-1934 (as I recall the years). The walls have many historic photos of him with nameplates in English and Hindi. And there's a full room with dioramas of certain important events in Ghandi's life.

There's no entry fee, but a box for donations as you leave. Absolutely no pressure. Worthy of 60-90 minutes of your time.

it is small and humble, but ten times more interesting than the big museums in mumbai! A must for anyone with even the slightest interest in Ghandi and his role in modern india

No one can undestand modern India without a knowledge of Ghandi - contains a very interesting book collection and some great models of how India was in days long gone

Not new, not fancy or modern in any way but very accurate, informative and true to its theme. A pleasent surprise.
