Owner description: Mahatma Gandhi once lived in this simple, two-story building, which is now a museum, library and research center depicting Gandhi's life and struggles for Indian freedom through peaceful means.

I enjoyed visiting Gandhi's house and learned so much. It was stange to see photo's off him as a young man, as I have always seen the older photo's. I was inspired by his beliefs and his treatment of his fellow man. A must visit.

The museum was nice and it's on a very pretty street with large trees.

It was my first time to the Mani Bhavan and it was a moving experience. There was a lot of information to read and understand. I want to go back again some day. It is a beautiful home indeed and its historical background makes a must visit place!

A well maintained shrine to Ghandi that compels a person to take more interest in the person as an individual rather than the historical interest of mythology that abounds about the man.

This tiny but multi-storied house used to belong to Ghandi's friend. Ghandi stayed here from time to time and now they turned it into a Ghandi museum. It is small, quaint, but interesting. Don't take a guide with you, because there are lots of things to read and see, and you will want to take your time. It's not one of those museums where a guide is helpful.

The place is small and cramped, not for the claustrophobic, and it gets really hot during the day with no A/C. Make sure to visit early in the morning when its cooler. There are several exhibits of letters he wrote or had written to him, his life in miniature, and many historical photos. It won't blow you away, but it is an interesting way to spend a few hours. Best to at least know the story of Gandhi before visiting, so brush up before you come here, you'll get more out of it. The signs are kind of written like "of course you know everything about Gandhi already, but here are some exhibits commemorating his life", so if you don't know you're missing some of the interest.
