“Beautiful, Exotic and Historic”
Reviewed March 27, 2014

Fortunate enough to see a concert and a light show at the Gateway, so it was turning purple, pink, orange, green, blue - absolutely stunning, But even on a regular day it is an iconoic sight. Many tourists so many hustlers and traders but easy enough to just take in the sights.

“Magnificent structure let down by its surroundings”
Reviewed March 27, 2014

Bombay (Sorry Mumbai) has great structures which somehow seem to be colonial built, some are well kept, others shamefully neglected. There is history behind this structure but if you are coming from London just visit Marble Arch instead, although its worth getting out of the car and taking some pictures. Shame that cleanliness is limited to 5* hotels in most of India.

“Welcome To Mumbai”
Reviewed March 25, 2014

The Gateway was built way back in 1924. The main objective behind the construction of the Gateway of India was to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary to Mumbai.
The cost to build the Gateway Of India I couldn't believe it myself it was a whooping amout of Rs 21 Lacs and all expences borne by the Indian Government. It also has a historic significance as the last horde of British troops left India through this gateway.
The Gateway Looks very beautiful in the late evening when it is lit by lights all around it or in the early vee morning and once can fresh breeze standing right in front of the Gateway and say Welcome To Mumbai
